My only problem with this book is while it does an excellent job of explaining and taking you step by step through building a three cross wheel it does not guide you through a four cross wheel which is what I wanted to build; however with this book and a couple of other resources I was able to build the wheel I wanted.
I still like this book so well I bought it a second time and even paid more for it the second time, the first one was stolen.
I do wish he did not use the "wheel stands on its spokes" terminology because some people start thinking the spokes are somehow in compression. Of course on any conventional wheel, the spokes on a load bearing bicycle wheel are all in tension but differ in the amount of tension around the wheel.
No mention of using washers at the spoke head when needed, one important item covered in Schraner's book. Also, at least in my edition of the book, I do not recall any analysis of disk-braked wheels which have different forces than a rim-braked wheel and require non-radial spoking.
