The story, featuring characters from squirrelpicnic.com, is very cute, but the pattern section is where the book really shines. The tutorials are well done, with clear photography to illustrate the stitches. There are even a few tricks in there that an advanced crocheter (specifically this reviewer) would appreciate. The projects are fun to do and not particularly complicated. The author did a really great job of finding ways to take objects from the story and make them into interesting projects--a clutch, a bracelet, a barrette, a pillow, and more.
The unique concept behind this book was executed very well. I think crocheters of all ages would enjoy it, but it would be especially suited to a crocheter with young children or for children who are learning (or interested in learning) to crochet themselves.

Having followed the author's journey on her Blog, as she brought this book together, I was so pleased when the published item was posted through my door.
The idea of a wonderful story about two cute squirrels and their friends was great in the first place, without that added fun of the author writing patterns for everything that goes into the story!
The first half of the book btells us the story of these wonderful creatures and their friends, and then the second half is absolutely filled with patterns galore, so that any budding, or proficient, crocheter can make this story come to life for themselves, or their loved ones!
The patterns are really easy to follow, the pictures - as they say - paint a thousand words, and the whole concept is utterly fun, and totally marvellous.
A highly reccomended book to get for anyone who loves stories, and loves to crochet :)
