Well made, nice material, all the bells and whistles, with the hooded top, gusseted collar and built in pad holder. It compresses down fairly well, but, it is still heavy. I really like the pouch in the pillow area. I used the Big Agnes inflatable pillow system (and also loved it) but, it was be easy to fill with with clothes to have a nice pillow.
I used this bag in weather down to ~15 degrees Fahrenheit and was comfortable, but, had to layer on the very coldest nights. Most importantly, lots of room to move around, especially in the foot box. A decent self inflating pad is a must, as the bottom of the bag does not have any insulation.
This is a great bag for campground/car camping - MAYBE a single overnight backpacking hike. Too bulky and heavy for multi-day backpacking. I will get a smaller and lighter bag for that.
My daughters also use Big Agnes system bags and we sleep in a Big Agnes tent. So far we like the thoughtfulness of the designs and the quality and value are great. We have all become fans.
I bought this bag from Eastern Mountain Sports, they are a great seller! Hopefully they accept my return request, I have bought stuff from them here and on their website, they normally have great deals!
Overall for any other purpose this is a great, roomy bag! I am 6' 250lbs (fat, not muscle haha) and I have ample space to turn around in this bag. The Lost Ranger has a shoulder girth 5 inches less, so is nearly as roomy and about half the weight. The Lost Ranger stuffs down to be VERY manageable inside my Kelty 110 backpack, this Hog Park would not fit in the lower pocket, no way!
Also stuffing this bag in the supplied stuff sack is quite an unpleasant feat unless you are a weightlifter.
So I gave it three stars, for car camping this would be an awesome bag! Except one more thing, it lays VERY heavy on me and I didn't really like that either. I tried it out with my 20" Q-core insulated pad (in my living room) and I would recommend for the serious seeker of creature comforts that you buy the 20" pad of your choice, then add on the Big Agnes Sleeping Giant Memory Foam Pad Cover http://amzn.to/1HZdJhx and you will have a ten pound deluxe sleeping system that will make you the envy of the campground.
Need something in between the Hog Park and the Lost Ranger? Look at the Encampment. Nuff said you won't go wrong with this bag if you don't plan to hike miles with it :)

Excellent quality. This is a very roomy sleeping bag. Be aware that you need a sleep pad. As far as the temp rating, I would say it is accurate. Read morePublished 12 months ago by kentjome
