"The Big Book of Potluck: Good Food and Lots of It- for Parties..." falls in between the worst and the best. You cannot find the table of contents or the index using the search feature on the Kindle. You have to page through to find it and then it only gives you chapter headings i.e. Meat Dishes, Desserts. It does not subcategorize the individual recipes for example Chicken Asparagus and Mushroom Casserole or Flaky Pie Crust. The chapter introductions are equally lacking. The author writes about a few of her favorite recipes and you can access these directly with a link but you have to page through to find the remainder of the recipes. It would have been so much more helpful if the individual recipes were listed with a link to their page. While you can find the index with the search feature it is organized alphabetically but it is huge so you have to have time and patience to search that too.
I hope in the future that e-cookbooks develop a standard format that allows busy cooks to easily access their recipes. My rating is based entirely on the format of this e-book, not on its contents. The recipes may be wonderful but I would want the hard copy to use them.

Looks like some good recipes. I have not tried any of them out. I was looking for recipes with large amounts of ingredients, and this book seems to have that. Good conditionPublished 16 months ago by Karen M. Calaway
I haven't actually made any of the recipes yet but I love to read cookbooks like novels. Many great looking recipes - I can hardly wait until my next potluck. Read morePublished 21 months ago by Christy Rowe
Very basic 1960's recipes.... And the "crowd" is 6 to 8 servings. Save your money.Published 22 months ago by Ilze R.
