But for drummers and other instrumentalists this book will give you so much inspiration and encouragement to continue on in your dreams.
It boosts your faith to carry on and do what we have been given to do!
Thanks Zoro for such a great work!
Just wanted to say how much I love the new book. I'm about a fourth of the way
thru & I'm completely enthralled with it!
I've always felt that you & I share similar thoughts, which I'm sure, has
brought us to cross paths. But reading deeper into your book, shows more
insight to your thoughts, your dedication to your work, & your conviction to a
job well done, traits we both share deeply.
One thing that brings comfort to me is that I have always kept a high standard
for myself, have always thought that my role as a musician is no less noble
than that of any other "professional". To read that you have similar beliefs,
& to follow your success, only proves further, that I truly am on my path, one
that is noble, & as long as I keep true, my vision of success will manifest
itself when the time is right!
I enjoy being a musician & a molder of minds. To inspire, you need to be
inspired! Watching someone like you, & being able to share that w/the next
generation so they can continue that cycle, is a blessing in and of itself.
You book is beyond the "typical" music book. You book tackles the one question
that NO OTHER PROFESSIONAL DARES ANSWER do to the typical thought process
of "if they share how "they" made it, it may take away from their success. You
book is an excellent guide for some one looking to not only have career success,
but to have a successful life, something most people fail to achieve.
Thanks for all you do and may your book touch & inspire many, many lives!
There are many books out there for learning different styles or chops, but very little detailing the day to day functionality of being a professional working musician. Zoro lays out a series of must read topics, such as touring, recording, networking, marketing, improving as a player, unions, negotiating pay, and many more. Hearing anecdotes about nightmare gigs or strange characters he has dealt with will definitely make you laugh, for myself many of those stories hit too close to home! Zoro is a masterful player and a great teacher, and this book cements his ability to inspire and inform. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy!
