As others have noted, plugging the ipad in to charge with the frame on can be a downright feat of the nimble-fingered.
It's not impossible, just tricky.
The frame has a little squish to it, not as much as a stress ball would. It will take an impact just fine (yep, I dropped it to check!)
The way the frame is designed, the corners or one of edges would hit before the ipad likely would hit anything. If you were to place the frame on a surface with the face of the ipad down, it wouldn't be touching anything, there would be a gap between the surface and the ipad.
Hopefully this helps others looking for frames/cases.
I liked the product so much that when my district got our class two more iPads this year I immediately purchased two more Big Grips, this time in green and grey!
My original cover in blue did tend to get in the way of the camera a little (I would have to bend the frame slightly to remove the blue frame from the shot). I noticed in the two new frames I just purchased that they addressed this issue and the hole for the camera is larger and no longer blocks the view.
Note that the frame is very thick; approximately 1 inch.Read more ›
Those of us with iPads have discovered that there are lots of wonderful apps out there for preschool children, but little in the way of protection from the inevitable dropping that occurs. Most of the cases out there prevent scratching and harm from light use, but aren't designed for the wear and tear of children. This was perfect for our use - easy to grip for small hands, virtually impossible for even the most determined preschooler to remove from the frame, and seems like it'd take quite a beating (though it hasn't been dropped yet). The only "con" is that the controls are difficult to reach, since they are recessed behind so much material... which becomes an issue when you want to charge or sync. Also, it seems like the price should be about half what it is. But, there's nothing else on the market for cheaper that will give you the same protection. I'm very happy with our purchase (we now have two).

Great product for small hands! The only drawback is that the iPad takes up a lot of room in a travel bag or backpack while in the big grip.Published 6 months ago by JJJJKj
