The book moves well and there is enough to connect with the characters. I will be reading the next book
Stella Reynolds has just accepted her first job as a TV News Reporter in Bozeman, Montana. She is very excited about the job, but things are not quite what she expected - the equipment is antiquated and prone to breakdowns and "hot" stories are almost non-existent.
When the station Stella works for is "scooped" by their rival in town regarding a home break-in, Stella wonders if the accused, Bill James, is interested in telling his side of the story. When requesting information from the Sheriff's Department, she get a fax from Detective Ronald Sharpe with more information than she was expecting. Then when she goes to interview Bill James, she learns that he has an alibi for the time of the "alleged" crime.
Just when things are looking up and it appears that the charges will be dropped, Bill is back in jail, charged with the murder of the woman who filed the original complaint, as well as her mother. As Stella starts to investigate the case, she speaks with Bill's girlfriend and discovers that not everything about the case is as it appears. The further she digs, the more Stella suspects there is more to the story than just the murders. After overhearing an argument in the Justice Building (which houses the courthouse, the jail, and the Sheriff's office), Stella discovers that there is a conspiracy going on. The question is, can she expose the corruption and solve the murders without getting killed herself and will she be able to make her deadline for the evening news?
Well developed and interesting characters with an engaging plot. Plenty of surprises to keep you guessing right to the end.
She actually doesn't write, she paints pictures for you. Her dialogue is excellent and the story moves smoothly from start to finish. Where so many books end at the climax, Libby creates a second conclusion, Just a good all around read. I highly recommend this book, as a fledgling writer myself, i see the talent everywhere in this book! Great job!
It doesn't take long for her to realize all is not right in tiny Bozeman. With the help of Vindi, her on-air cohort, (I swear you can just hear her speaking- she is an awesome character in her own right!) truth comes to town with some absolutely beautiful video to back it up! I can hardly wait for Stella's next Big Lead! Enjoy!
