I bought this because it looked terrifying having Alexa's voice coming from a mounted fish and I was not disappointed. This thing creepy. The way is swings it's head and tells you with cold dead eyes that your package has arrived is amazing. I do have a couple complaints though. I was originally going to put this above my bed to judge if women I brought home were wife material by their reaction when it began to serenade us during love making, but I am ultimately glad I didn't, as it seems to move whenever the Alexa ring light activates; meaning that it will definitely wake you up if you are unfortunate enough to get a notification at night. I'm also a little sad that Alexa's voice doesn't actually come from the fish. It moves it's lips in time with her voice and it definitely has a speaker built in as evidenced by it's screaming when you turn it on, but the speaker doesn't connect to Alexa. Over all I got exactly what I wanted when I bought this, a super creepy fish.

DO NOT BUY. The programming on these fish are awful. The fish does not sync up to any third party music streaming services. On top of this, the tail flaps and head movements are off-beat and look terrible. The worst part is that THE SPEAKER DOES NOT WORK ON ANY OF THESE. I ordered three, and of all three, the speaker will not sync to the Echo devices I have. These are a huge failure and over-hyped product and I highly suggest you to stray away from these until they are improved.

Does not sing to music, mouth moves to only a portion of the words spoken by Alexa. The internal speaker does not repeat any of the Alexa spoken words. Does not measure up to the hype. Would have been an interesting purchase if it did all it was advertised as doing.

I don't understand all the negative reviews here, we've been laughing at this thing all night. Setup was super easy and as follows :

1. Open your alexa app and select the device you want to pair bmbb to
2. Hold the red button down, bmbb responds he's ready to pair
3. Select bmbb in the alexa app, that's it

It operates mostly as described. Unlike other reviews I was pleased it plays sound from the echo rather than the internal speaker as I imagine it couldn't compare in quality. I also bought one of the hanging wall outlets ahead of time and mounted it just under the fish. Edit : added photos of decorating it for Christmas.

I was really looking forward to this gadget to give me laughs like the original . Well , no such luck . My biggest purchase disappointment from amazon . Whatever exho device you hook it up to , thats where the sound comes from , not the fish itself . Except when you push the red button , one song preprogrammed into the fish will play through the fish speaker and have the mouth move to the song . When you ask alexa a question sometimes the head will move and the mouth will lip sync what alexa says . If you ask Alexa to play a song the fish will just dance and not lip sync . I probably will be sending it back .

Easily the worst purchase i have made on Amazon....all of the already stated defects are there.....poor syncing with spoken parts, horrible "dancing" to the music, the reaction is random and spasmodic...the speakers onboard are only used for the original song and useless for anything else....you literally have to mount it onto an Alexa device to give the remote illusion that it is other than a randomly flopping fish...Worst Alexa Product EVER...

Bluetooth, by design, is always laggy

The reviews so far have been a bit harsh. There is built-in latency with Bluetooth protocol especially in pre-5.0. On top of that, the mechanical motor will always lag behind the signal. The lags people see are irritating but it most likely isn't the fault of the "bass".

The only practical way to fix the latency issue is for Amazon to update the Echo firmware so the bluetooth signal is sent ahead of the speaker output. Almost all TVs have this lip-sync feature.

Since there is a chance the flaws can be fixed in Echo software update, I will hold on to it for now.

I don't think I have ever returned an item due to it being complete rubbish before now. Paired great, no issue. Looks at you when you say your echo "wake word", that's the extent of the capabilities of BMBB. Mouth moves when Alexa speaks, but resembles nothing like what is being spoken. I watched the video posted here, of it lip syncing with the echo show, mine worked nothing like that. That was bad, mine was worse. Lost pairing withing 3 minutes. Smaller than the original BMBB. Was not packaged properly, the ties that are supposed to hold him in place during shipping were not attached to the BMBB. It was not however damaged during shipping, it is just trash. What was supposed to be a funny flashback of a novelty, is worse than the original in every way. BMBB is just a BM.
