The BEST Coconut Sugar

I'll use other brands for baking, but when it comes to sweetening my coffee, this brand has the BEST flavor. I love it. Sweetening with coconut sugar allows me to get my coffee legit sweet without nasty artificial chemicals OR a blood sugar crash. My understanding is that the body metabolizes coconut sugar like fruit sugar--that is, more slowly than table sugar for a lower glycemic index. With coconut sugar I can drink multiple cups of sweet coffee without feeling that gross feeling of having too much sugar for breakfast. This brand is coarse and has a flavor similar to brown sugar. It is fine for baking too. They quit carrying it at the stores I usually shop, so now I'm buying here. Thanks, Amazon!

When I found coconut sugar as a replacement for refined sugar I was so happy. I don't eat many sweets after being diagnosed with hypertriglyceridemia, hypothyroidism, and autoimmune diseases. I rarely eat baked goods, even gluten free ones however I do make homemade dairy free ice cream. And I use a little bit of coconut sugar to sweeten it. This tastes great and the value for the cost per pound is less expensive than the regular grocery store.

1. Would’ve been worth buying if it came in sustainable recyclable material.. and because of the COVID19 virus, many recycling centers are closed, and places like grocery stores that normally accept plastic packaging and bags aren’t accepting anything now.

2. Says it’s 1lb, but doesn’t look like it.

We love this product and use it as a replacement for sugar . We have made halwa , brownies , muffins with it and it all came out well. Great for coffee and chai as well . I like that it's fair trade.

Cons : a little pricey for such a small packet.
our Costco has a big pack of coconut sugar for a great price so we switched to buying it from there now.

Great for making syrup for use with sodastream

I was looking for a natural low glycemic sugar substitute. Coconut palm sugar is granulated and has nutritional benefits as well as having a low glycemic index though it has calories but at least constructive ones. After reading the reviews I understood that there would be a slight caramel taste, not just like white sugar. I could live with that since I like coffee with flavored creamer and thought half and half would do instead (thanks to twinmom's review).

Since I have been drinking carbonated soda most of my life and it's a tough habit to break, I bought a SodaStream water carbonater and expected to be able to use natural flavoring with the carbonated water. The SodaStream syrups were not what I had hoped for (taste and content). I got the books "The Artesian Workshop" and "Homemade Soda" and have been enjoying and experimenting. I found a recipe for cream soda syrup (in Artesian Workshop) and vanilla syrup (in Homemade Soda) and discovered that the coconut palm sugar with vanilla just fit the bill (I didn't have to find/buy vanilla beans they are already in the sugar). I can now have a cream soda drink that doesn't have all sorts of chemicals.

1 cup water, 1 1/4 cups coconut palm sugar with vanilla. Bring to boil disolving all sugar, let simmer stirring to knock down foam and make into a syrup about 5 min. Let cool and pour into a container that can be refidgerated. This makes about a cup of syrup. Now it can be added to carbonated water to taste. I use a 1 to 7 ratio and add ice. Natural cream soda with minimal guilt.

I haven't used this vanilla sugar in coffee yet because I keep making the syrup with it. I really enjoy the taste and expect to continue using the palm sugar with and without vanilla in many other recipes.

The Perfect Sugar For Homemade Hot Cocoa

I like to make my own hot chocolate with ground vanilla bean (which is expensive). I decided to try out this coconut sugar due to the addition of organic vanilla bean. I have to say this is the perfect sugar for hot cocoa! It's not as sweet as regular cane sugar or honey. It has it's own distinct & robust flavor, the additional vanilla makes for the finishing touch. You can add some coconut oil or ghee & put it into the blender for some "bullet proof" dairy free hot cocoa, go the old fashioned way adding generous amount of cream or just use the sugar & cocoa, no matter how you do it, the taste is fabulous! Note that the vanilla bean is real & it doesn't dissolve leaving vanilla dregs at the bottom of the cup if it settles before you drink it all. If seeing little specks alarms you, don't. It's normal, it's real, it's organic. I hope this review was helpful to you!
