We bought this at the last minute for a weekend trip to the beach. The umbrella does not say so, but it does come with a plastic bag to keep it in, which has a strap. This is nice for storage (we keep ours in garage and it keeps it from getting dirty or bugs getting in), but do not attempt to carry the bag by the strap or it will rip. The umbrella held up all weekend, when many were blowing over. However, when the winds hit 25 to 30 mph one day, it was making me a little nervous because it was wobbling, but most people's umbrellas were breaking. It does tilt which is a nice feature because we were able to adjust it as the sun moved rather than moving our chairs. This feature also helped with the wind because we could adjust it so it moved less. We did buy a seperate piece to help it go in the ground better. We used Rio Brands XCB202CB-01 Sand Anchor, White, which fit the base and worked out very nice. I do think this was a big help in keeping it from blowing away and coming out of the ground. We did tighten the anchor once during the day on the day that it was really windy.

This is my 1st ever review on Amazon. This product was disappointing. PRO's: reflective material was used so it does a better job of reflecting the heat than some cloth-only umbrellas. This is the only reason why I gave this 2 stars vs. 1. And now for the CON's: the bag it comes in is similar to the cheap, clear plastic bags that personal umbrellas are usually sold in. After 9 uses, the bottom ripped open. On the umbrella, there is no fastener to tie the material around the shaft. The end points that secure the cloth to the ribs are not very secure. Under the windiest conditions, one should expect the umbrella to flip out, but you shouldn't expect the umbrella to fall apart as much. One of the pieces of the frame broke.

I took this umbrella to the beach and immediately saw problems. The bottom of the pole is smooth, not corkscrew, so it's more difficult to anchor in the sand. Okay, so a lot of beach umbrellas are like that.

I proceeded to put the umbrella up. This is the beach. It's breezy. I wouldn't say it was excessively windy, just what normally blows at the beach. The ribs bent severely and the endcaps instantly came loose. My umbrella was falling apart, so I took it down and spent the day without an umbrella.

This umbrella would probably work in an area with no breeze. Just don't take it to the beach.

Bought 2. Definitely not what I expected. 1 was defective and couldn't even use it. The other one has no wind tolerance. Have got to find out how to return the defective one.
