About the Brand

The Bigelow® Tea Story

Beginning the moment our founder, Ruth Campbell Bigelow created "Constant Comment"® Tea in her kitchen in 1945, our family has focused on just one thing…trying to make the finest teas possible. Over the years we have introduced many new flavors as well as concepts in tea. Today we offer a selection of deliciously different blends of teas and green teas, a wide variety of herbal teas and teas flavored with real fruit juice. Today Bigelow Tea is the number one specialty tea company in the United States. And to think it all began with the first legendary black tea flavored with golden orange rind and sweet spice…"Constant Comment"®Tea.

Bigelow takes immense pride in providing the tea drinking community with the best tea at a great value. We only use hand- picked teas, real spices, flavors and herbs. The flavors and blends we have created are second to none. Some of our teas contain up to twenty different ingredients! And because tea is a leaf that can dry out we take steps to protect it. To keep the teas fresh, we seal our tea bags in protective packets. We simply have to protect those delightful flavors. That’s why a cup of Bigelow Tea is aromatic and delicious; a true indulgence for the senses.

Bigelow tea in general is usually pretty good and the Earl Grey is a hit at the hotel I manager. For English however I prefer PG Tips but that's just my preference.

I ordered this tea for the 97 room hotel I work at, to put in the rooms. 240 bags of tea at an awesome price! However, when I opened the tea up, we found that while yes, there is 240 bags, they are packaged 4 bags to a pouch. Maybe I overlooked this in the description somewhere. I checked again but did not see that anywhere.

But now I know and hopefully this will help someone else. if you are looking for individually wrapped tea bags, do not get the 40 count box packs! Get the 20 count ones! (works out to be the same price)

Bigelow's (Bagged) Earl Grey Tea and Taylors of Harrogate Earl Grey (Loose-leaf Tea) are simply the best of the best. It's flavor and aroma are that of true excellence and exquisiteness. There are NO comparisons! You will not prefer any another after trying theirs. Brewing a cup or pot brings on overwhelming expectations of pure satisfaction.

(I had the unfortunate experience of having to purchase Taylors of Harrogate [bagged] Earl Grey Tea. I always prefer loose leaf tea over bagged tea because then I can control how strong a tea brew will be and that loose teas tend to be much fresher. Due to the way Taylors bagged tea is processed it lacked that normal freshness and exquisite taste. So totally by providence I came across Bigelow's Bagged Earl Grey Tea and by surprise I found that their Earl Grey is just as exquisite and fine as Taylors loose leaf tea. Bigelow tea bags are individually sealed and very fresh. So there are TWO Best of the Best. Enjoy!)

I love tea, Earl Grey is one of my favorite.

I tried Twinings, Stash (Double Bergamot Earl Grey), and this one - Bigelow.

I found that Twinings quality varies from bag from bag, not just from box to box. The good ones are very good, and the bad ones do not even smell the Bergamot. The Stash Double Bergamot smells very good, but when drinking it, it's like drinking orange peel tea.

The Bigelow Earl Grey has yet to show te variations among tea bags. If you like Earl Grey, this one is highly recommended.

Bigelow Earl Grey is the best tasting tea that I had. There are many brands that offer "Earl Grey", but only Bigelow meets my standards of taste. I always have this tea with a touch of half-and-half, or with a bit of unflavored "Silk Soy Kreamer". It is excellent! I never tasted it with a lemon wedge, and I would not recommend it that way because the lemon might overpower the delicate taste of the Vergamont herb that gives Bigelow Earl Grey its exquisite aroma and flavor. I never had it as iced-tea. Also, when purchased in quantities, it is cheaper than the shelf price that I'd pay in any grocery store. I recommend this tea.

Oh yum. There will be no more tea-less Tuesdays, no more tea-less Tuesdays, no more tea-less Tuesdays......for me! Instead of individual bags though, they come four to a pouch, which is fine for me cause I go through them pretty quickly. I love Bigelows flavor the best for Earl Grey, twinnings just doesn't do it for me.

I absolutely LOVE this tea and feel that you are offering a great bargain. I received my first order as a birthday gift from my sister and I haven't stopped using it!!!! PLEASE do NOT raise the price....... I am handicapped (hence my ordering all products on-line) and I do NOT received ANY government assistance. I support myself on a limited income. This is affordable to me! Therefore you are affording me my ONE TRUE VICE SPLURGE in life!!! Thank you VERY much!!!!

We've always liked Bigelow's Earl Grey. Note this one is slightly different -- the teabags are not individually foiled, but come 4 to a foil as if you were going to make a pitcher of iced tea (making it a pain when you only want one). It also seems to have an ever so slightly different taste.

I'm sure the tea itself is fine, but all buyers be aware that these are NOT individually wrapped tea bags. And thus not appropriate for the office environment I bought them for. And unfortunately I've opened the carton, so now I most likely can't return it. Ugh.
