A valuable no-nonsense how-to guide that appears to have the right stuff renters will need to make it all work. The instructions and anecdotes are all helpful and the book is written in an easy to grasp format that helps promote a fast turnaround from the idea stage to the business stage. My one concern is that successful renting can be more an art than a science. Unlike a seller a renter must contend with many variables that don't come into play when flipping a property. Some of the info might be a bit rosier on the page than it turns out to be in real life horse trading.

I have this one on my kindle and I have re-read it a few times already. It has very good insight into renting your house or apartment and choosing a good tenant. I also joined his on-line group and I have read some interesting articles and listened to some podcasts. I would recommend this one if you are looking to enter real estate.

A great guide, helped me a lot since I am new to being a landlord and a property owner. I own a duplex (two houses in one) and live in one side and am renting out the other. This provided a lot of insight into the rental processes and was an easy read for me.

It was great free advice! Everything was simple and easy to understand. I already put some things into practice such as giving out my standards over the phone to weed out those who wouldn't qualify and waste everyone's time. I love the idea of looking them up on social media and what you can find out about them. ( If they have pets etc.) It's quick, easy to read, informational, helpful, and did I mention free.

The book is written by a practitioner, not a guru.
The book starts with probably the most important advice for any endeavor,
It covers areas most of us have not thought of, or have encountered (but may).
It answers questions and provide solutions,
so we won't be caught off-guard as a landlord.
I feel a Table of Content would add more value.
Very readable, highly recommended !

Since I was curious to know how to rent my house (should I decide to do so), I found this to be a very helpful book! Each chapter covers everything that I would need to know about renting my home.

This book is much information with no fluff and I found the read very easy to follow and understand. In fact, I found it so helpful, that if one is thinking about renting a home, this will help them understand what a landlord goes through!

Highly recommend this book!

This is definitely a must read for the beginner or someone thinking about renting real estate. I have heard so many horror stories from people that have rented apartments and they refuse to ever rent again and have scared other people from renting out real estate as well. This book would definitely have helped prevent some of those stories. There is some great information on issues like the rental lease agreement and even verifying info and denying an applicant to dealing with security deposits and applications fees. Anyone could benefit from reading this. It will help you, but reading the book is only half the battle. You have to manage the property well and gather and maintain the correct papers and consult a few other sources too.

I can't possibly say enough about how great a resource the Bigger Pockets Web sites, podcasts and guides such as this one are. They have saved me from countless mistakes that I would have made in my rental business had I not found their resources.
