This book opened me up to an entire new world and I can only recommend this book to any fellow professional or business owner that is looking to build their brand and reach online.
Still good information for a such a short read.
There are a number of tactics discussed in the interview, such as publishing a book, conducting PR campaigns, and launching internet radio/podcast series. But I think the most valuable advice I walked away with was that every one of these tactics needs to bolster and magnify the others as part of an overall "Authority Marketing" strategy. Of course, we all "know" that... but knowing is never enough.
This interview is a great reminder for the importance of having a strategy.
Bill tells you that to be an authority, you have to be an expert and you have to be best selling author, and promote this fact widely, and that this is difficult, so his company can help with this, without telling you how to do this apart from getting in touch with his company.
The valuable information in this book could be condensed into a single blog post - it's neither authoritative nor will it offer any advice other than "Write a book". You'll learn more by reading a few blog posts on this topic. Don't waste your time with this - instead - read the excellent book "Platform" by Michael Hyatt or if you need inspiration, consider "Tribes" by Seth Godin or to better understand your audience, "Running Lean" by Ash Mouraya.
