James's heroine, Aubrey, is awesomely independent and she doesn't need, nor does she want the heroes money. He doesn't zoom in to save her from financial peril at every turn. James did something innovative here-- she took a well-known subgenre and turned it on its head.
What would you do if someone offered you a million dollars to not have sex with anyone for three months? I ain't gonna lie-- I'd take the deal. I'm not rich enough, nor am I high and mighty enough to say I'd reject it. And that's what I love about Aubrey-- she takes the deal. She, like most people, have a few financial reasons to take the deal, but she also just plain thinks it's an easy million. But what's even better about Aubrey is that while she's realistic in her decision to take the money, she's also honorable enough to reconsider her choice once she starts to have feelings for the adorable hero, Henry.
I don't want to give it all away, but I do want to say that this book is simultaneously sweet and funny and steamy as well. Adrianne James delivers on a believable romance that makes the reader not just fall in love with the hero, but the heroine as well. :)
A great quick read! Looking forward to more contemporary from Ms. James!
I found myself enjoying this book more then I thought I would. I loved that Aubrey didn't have everything together, she didn't have some tragic messed up past. I liked how real her character felt. I loved that she was very caring and I loved her relationship with her brother. I liked that she did what she could to help him and his girlfriend out. I thought Henry character was interesting, I wished there was more then one point of view where I got to see his side of things though. I loved the connection between Aubrey and Henry. I thought that this book was well written and really interesting.

I really enjoyed this book. Aubrey is damaged when it comes to men, but tries so hard to be good.Read more
