Kate Von Lichtenstein is already an heiress. She is the daughter of Baron and Baroness Von Lichtenstein and is used to people wanting to be around her for their social status. She is expected to marry someone who will bring more to her family's good name and nobility. Kate is about to inherit billions from her late grandparents. This will make her be on the top of every fortune hunters list as a desirable bride, but she does not want this to happen. She wants to be in control of her own destiny and make the choice for herself.
While sitting at her lifelong crush, Sebastian Romanov's wedding, Noah Sawyer comes over to reconnect with Kate. They had met at Sebastian's brother's wedding in Holland Springs. They had an instant connection then, and she decides Noah is the man she wants to help her take control of her future. As they are catching up, she learns he has had some recent troubles with his business. To help them both, she makes an offer that she hopes he won't refuse.
Noah has been raised more traditionally. He takes his commitments seriously, especially vows. He has no intention of being married for name sake only, which surprises Kate. Will a marriage of convenience turn into something more?
From start to finish, I was completely enthralled with this book. I could not put it down. I loved the characters strong will and determination. Marquita Valentine has written another fabulous story. I cannot wait to read more from the Brides of Holland Springs series!
- Too much sex for the length of the book, page filler sex
- Characters introduced with no bother to use them for anything, might as well have left them out
- Obvious need to revenge just ignored for the reader, built us up then basically did a closed door "something" to get even. Really sucked!
- Editing was about a 6/10
- Ending scene was done fairly well
- Beginning chapters were done well to hook the reader into the book
- Let a really promising premise be turned into a really poor effort, read like the author rushed to get it done
There ya go, 3 Stars and that might be generous, anything above 3 Stars baffles me
