If you love romance novels, you'll love this one too. And if you've read the Barrington Billionaires series, this book is a must read. Reading this book in November felt like Christmas came early. I love the feel of the holidays that this book gave. Though it's set on New Year, it also felt like Valentine's is just around the corner with all three stories of love and romance in this box set. These three stories will make you swoon, love and relive your dreams along with your holiday experience. It's a delightful read to get a feel of the holiday season that is fast approaching.
Ruth Cardello - A Billionaire for Lexi: Holiday Novella (The Barrington Billionaires, Book 3.5)
While we have seen Lexi Chambers in previous books. Her twin sister, Willa Chambers is married to Lance Barrington (Trade It All – Book 3 of the Barrington Billionaires). While Willa was more reserved and quiet, Lexi is just the opposite. Lexi was a free spirit and always ready for an adventure.
Clay Landon is Dax Marshals best friend (Dax married Kenzi Barrington – Stolen Kisses – Book 2). Clay may be richer than God himself but Clay was more than a happy go lucky kind of guy. He is ‘I have everything in my fingertips kind of guy’. Clay has had everything he has ever wanted, including women. Dax thinks that Clay needs to grow up and take responsibilities for his own life.
Clay begins to think that there is something about Lexi that draws him to her. Both are free spirited, but there is more depth to his interest than just that. Besides, Lexi is unimpressed by his wealth. He will have to change his tactics if he is to get her attention. Lexi is not falling at his feet like all the other women have in the past.
Lexi gets into trouble fast, but she is trying to be on her best behavior because the Barrington’s are now her twin sister, Willa’s, family. As the week-end of activities continue, Lexi is becoming an obsession for Clay. Clay certainly doesn’t want the Barrington Matriarch, Sophie, attempts to put he and Lexi together, or does he.
Find out if Lexi can stop running away and Clay admit that he may be falling in love with her.
Book 2: Just in Thyme by Jeannette Winters
You will find Jeannette Winters “Just in Thyme” as bonus book 2 and part of the Holiday Novella -The Barrington Billionaires-- Book 3.5 by Ruth Cardello, with the 3rd bonus book by Danielle Stewart.
These 3 authors have created a SYNCHRONIZED series (all called: The Barrington Billionaires). Ms. Stewart and Ms. Winters characters are connected to Ruth Cardello’s the Barrington Billionaires in some way, therefore, Synchronized series. Fortunately for the reader, they are all great authors and I am always waiting for the next book in the series.
Just in Thyme is about a chef, Vincent Moretti, who is rich and famous who was invited to the New Year Barrington Charity event in Vermont. Vincent was meeting an investor, but when a major snow storm hit investor was unable to make it.
Renita Gallo was the daughter of a great chef at the Ski Resort where the Barrington New Year Charity event was being held. Renita is not a chef in fact she can barley boil water. Then the unthinkable happened. Her father became ill and the entire weekend event would be up to her including managing the kitchen staff, and oh by the way, she had to cook too.
Renita has stayed in Stowe, Vermont because of her father. She feels lost and is not sure of her purpose in life. Her father wants her to become a Chef and she had wanted to be a Teacher. Now with this crisis, she wanted the ground to open and swallow her.
Renita’s “lunch” was a disaster and that is when Vincent Moretti stepped in and rescued the luncheon and her. Vincent & Renita were attracted to each other with sparks flying around the kitchen that it may just catch on fire. Solution, both would ignore the pull they felt.
Will they give into their simmering passion before the event ends or is there a way that they can find their own HEA?
Book 3: Midnight on the Slopes by Danielle Stewart
Nolan Saint-Jane’s older sister is Libby who recently married James West (Fierce Love -Barrington Billionaires Book 1). Nolan is happy for his sister, but with no other family he feels alone. Libby was the fixer and now she lives Texas with her husband and Nolan is still in New York finishing college. Nolan doesn’t want to “welch” off his new brother-in-law, James West, so he is determined to do it on his own.
Nolan was so looking forward to seeing Libby at the Barrington’s Charity in Vermont this weekend. Those plans changed when a Blizzard was hitting Vermont and all flights from Texas to Vermont was canceled. On top of all that, James West asked him to go in his stead and present the check for the charity for him. Nolan was just getting used to the fact he had to be with Billionaires all week-end and then Libby dropped another bomb. Nolan needed to take a date. His mood was turning black
While sitting in the coffee shop reeling from his “assignment’, Holly McNamara. In short order Nolan asks her to go with him to Vermont. Holly agrees to go but what Nolan doesn’t know is that Holly is on the run and she has decided that it would be a perfect time to leave right after the event.
Will Nolan find out Will Holly’s secret? Will Holly decide that the passion she feels for Nolan is enough to make her stop running away?
A Billionaire for Lexi by Ruth Cardello
While we have seen Lexi in the previous books seeming like she's always so perfect and in control of her life, in this book it was so nice to see a different side of her. Knowing Lexi Chambers more made me love her more along with her imperfections. Also, Clay was more than the happy go lucky I have everything in my fingertips kind of guy that he portrays on previous book. The two of them was really perfect for each other.
Just in Thyme by Jeannette Winters
I can't remember if I've come across Renita and Vincent from previous Jeannette Winters books but the idea of a chef/restaurateur and a woman who never want to set foot in the kitchen was sort of cute. But Renita and Vincent are more than that. Aside from dealing with love Renita showed how to be brave in dealing with your dreams too. And I loved how they bonded over thyme and well a bad case of tomato soup that started their story.
Midnight on the Slopes by Danielle Stewart
Among the three holiday stories, I love the conflict of this one the most. Probably because I can relate to Nolan best among all the characters in this box set.
This three stories will make you swoon, love and relive your dreams along with your holiday experience. It's a really good read to get a feel of the holiday season that is fast approaching.
That said I tried reading the other stories included in the book. I got halfway thru book 2 and well I was bored. I just didn't care. There were no Barringtons to keep my interested and Vincent and Renati just didn't have the connection I have felt when reading the Barringtons. I quit half way.
I then skinned book 3 and again no Barringtons and the book didn't hold my interested.
That said I LOVED book 1 and I felt it was worth the price tag even if I never read the other books. I did not like the other books but that had nothing to do with the writing it had more to do with the lack of connection to the series and I just didn't care abiout the new characters introduced.
