The incredibly talented Molly Sloan works at the Platinum Club, a private club to the elite in Boston, as the Wardrobe and Make-up artist for their servers. She recently received a promotion and is now Eva's right hand. She is a kind and wholly giving person. She donates her blood like clockwork every 6 weeks because she has been told that there is something very special about it.
When Edward and Molly meet for the 2nd time at Derry's opening at an Art Gallery, Edward feels compelled to protect Molly from the condescending Jane Lethbridge. Beyond his control - after Lethbridge has put her foot in her mouth Edward introduces Molly as his girlfriend and gives her one hell of a scorching kiss and leaves. Of course Molly runs after him.
From here, they begin to feel The Beat - but Edward fights it. He goes home to Montana. He has erotic dreams every night about Molly. In the meantime - Molly has lost her 'O' since that kiss.
Now - the intrigue begins. Older brother Gavin's serum has been stolen, serum that was derived from Molly's special blood. The race to save Molly throws her into Edward's path again and they can't resist each other. The Beat is too strong.
When the women get together to get to the bottom of the lies and secrets they learn so much more than they thought possible.
A MUST read - this series is awesome!
Molly proved to be more than what she was and during the course of the deceit and treachery in this book, discovers secrets untold. Thanks to Dr. Sam.
The fight scene between the shifters (Asher, Edward, Derry, Sophia, Tomas and Webb) in this book, was difficult to follow. Some parts of it didn’t make any sense. I don’t understand how Tomas had knowledge of Derry’s safe room??? Edward was not as strong as I thought he would be during the fight.
The shifter’s women sure don’t listen very well and it caused a lot of chaos, worry and problems! Molly was just a little too willing when it came to sex!
Molly Sloan lives in Boston and has no idea how special she is. Her blood puts her in danger from evil forces nobody quite understands; and unbeknownst to her, she's guarded and watched. Edward meets her and comes to love her.. but realizes being with her places her at more risk of danger or worse.
After finishing Denny and Jess's story (Book #2), I was anxious to see what kind of trouble the rest of the Stanton shifters find. Diana Seere's paranormal romance novels are full of suspense and mystery....plot twists and turns and steamy intimate moments, tastefully conveyed. I'm roped in from the first paragraph of the first chapter of each book, and I'm lovin' this skillfully crafted series. Character development is so well done, that I feel a part of their lives. Characters that are flawed, vulnerable, strong willed and likable. The story never loses momentum or focus.
This installment carried more sinister undertones that are addicting. Yet it's a sweet story of a man slowly going insane for a lovely woman that he's been warned to stay away from, yet feels she is his mate....his one and only. And the outrage that Molly feels; the anger and rage she displays when she discovers all that has been kept from her...(the knowledge and secrets and lies of omission) was second to none. And Ms. Seere told it oh so well. Her anger was pretty great. I loved Molly's character. She has lived by her wits for so long, taking care of herself her whole life. She's well bred in the school of hard knocks, learning to survive alone without parents, relatives or friends. And when she discovers the secret her blood was used for without her knowledge or permission, she feels betrayed, used and abused. She does what comes naturally to her in self defense...in protective mode...she looks out for herself running to safety without questioning what she might lose. From people who lied to her face, who she thought were her friends.
This author has a fantastic way with words. Emotions conveyed so precisely that you're transported to the scene and connected to the action taking place. I felt indignation, outrage, aggression and fear right along with the characters. I eagerly await the next installment.

Even the main couple are fairly irritating eg a heroine who gets all upset when her new crush doesn't talk to her about some family drama he has going on but she has no concerns at all about the fact that he turns into a wild animal when emotional?! The hero who doesn't seem to know if he wants her or not for the first half of the book. Then when he decides he does , all he can think/say is how much he needs to be with her and 'in her'. Boring!
The three women running away in a huff because there are secrets in the family, even though they know that this may not be safe? That just seems to be childish behaviour.
The sex scenes that seem to be written using the '101 guide to creative writing' ie the author follows the advice that they should endeavour to write so that the reader engages as many senses as possible. Hence we get not just the touch details in the sex scenes but also all the sound, taste and smell details as well. Too much info, it is overwhelming but not in a good way.
The more of this review I write the more I wonder why am I bothering to finish it?! Tried to go back to it but just feel life is too short to struggle through an uninspiring book when there are so many other authors out there to try instead.
Great story, plot, characters. Major angst, lots of twists, and turns. We get to see the whole family come together again under very different circumstances and loyalties divided. Lots of sweet loving moments, some very hot sexy moments, and some seriously difficult moments. This series continues from one book to the next, I have skipped #4 however as it goes off the Stanton’s and I’ve chosen to see how their story finishes.
Edward is the shy, reserved member of the family, although a lot of this is due to the fact of never forgiving himself for the death of his fiancée. However, when needs arise he is not so withdrawn and even stands up to Asher - the eldest brother and leader of the family.
Molly is great and when the three girls get together nothing can stop them, especially the men! She doesn't take anything lying down (well, except Edward) and when her life is in danger she faces is head-on. Although she is not exactly on a par with Derry, Molly does have an appreciation for sex and I loved the part when she lost her 'O', it was even funnier when she blaming Edward for it - poor man had no idea what she was talking about.
Funny, sexy, and exciting. This book has some of everything - romance, action, Shifters, comedy, and lots of sex! A must-read series.
(Please bare *no pun intended 😂* in mind this is only my opinion, many others are loving the length of the books & the amount of sex scenes 😃👍)
