The premise is very fun--a femdom book and a billionaire book all rolled into one. And it did a great job of delivering a hero who isn't just a billionaire but is a romance-genre billionaire. He's arrogant, self-assured, demanding... kind of a jerkface.

And to hear the heroine described, she's also a great femdom dominant, and all those same things--arrogant, self-assured, demanding... kind of a jerkface.

But at least in the first half, the hero and heroine are like oil and water. They come together, but they don't really mix. In every interaction, one or the other has to come out on top. Generally it's the billionaire/hero side which wins. You get typical billionaire book scenarios where the hero smolders and gets angry because he's so horny and does things that really cross a little over the line into sexual assault. And in most interactions other than the sex, the femdom heroine kind of melts away, thinks to herself how in control she usually is, and morphs into the typical billionaire book heroine--swept away, breathless, bratty.

A bratty femdom getting swept off her feet by the big bad billionaire is just not really a femdom book at all. I felt like all the right words were there, but it didn't really seem like a story written for someone who enjoys femdom stories.

A copy of this book was provided to me by the author for an honest review at The Romance Evangelist.

Joely Sue Burkhart is one of the writers I wish would release more books each year because I enjoy reading them so much. Her Connaghers series is one of my favorites in contemporary BDSM romance, so I was thrilled to hear that she was starting a new Billionaires in Bondage series with this first title, THE BILLIONAIRE SUBMISSIVE. Sure, it’s an overplayed trope, but who better to breathe new life into it than someone who has already established her credentials in the BDSM romance field? After reading this book, I can say without hesitation that Ms. Burkhart has more than validated my confidence in her ability to make the BDSM Billionaire trope her own, with a story that’s as beautiful and touching as any romance I’ve read in a long time.

The premise of THE BILLIONAIRE SUBMISSIVE is as simple as its title, and as complex as its hero and heroine. Donovan Morgan has learned the hard way that only money and power can get you what you want, and even then, they aren’t always enough. He has employees all over the world at his beck and call, but what he really needs is to serve at the feet of a woman worthy of his submission. As a public figure, Donovan can’t just wander into any BDSM club, or show up at a local munch, so he asks his trusted private investigator to find the best and most trustworthy Domme in the immediate vicinity. But when his ace PI uncovers a woman who could be more than just the perfect Mistress, Donovan will soon discover that true submission is only part of what he needs, and just the start of what he wants to give her.

Lilly Harrison is a stained glass artist by day, Dominatrix for hire by night. Both feed her soul, but only one pays the bills.

This is a story I've been hoping to find. Too many books with Domme leads portray the woman as a manhater/eater and the male sub as someone who craves humiliation and debasement. The idea of some guy crawling around and cleaning my floor with his tongue does nothing for me. The Billionaire Submissive gives us the love story of Donovan and Lilly, he's a wealthy man frozen inside and she's just the right woman to thaw him out. I laughed at Donovan's attempts to manipulate Lily in the beginning and I loved how easily she put him in his place. Lilly is a woman who can respect as she dominates and Donovan is a Alpha male who loves with his whole heart and holds nothing back. I'm looking forward to other stories in this series.

I am a take charge woman and enjoyed reading this story. To have an alpha male submit to a dominant woman and still both get what they desire was nice to read about. I feel like I wanted more at the end that it was a little rushed. I wanted to know how the stained glasses project came out. The small things. Anyway it was a great story as I like reading about dominant women and the men that love and can handle them.

Joely Sue Burkhart is a new author to me. The premise of story is intriguing. Ms. Burkhart did not disappoint and portrayed an emotional and playful FemDom story. Her writing hooks you in from the very beginning and takes you on a ride that involves fun dialog and play between Donovan and Lilly. Looking forward to more of Ms. Burkhart's Billionaires in Bondage.

He knows what he wants and he wants her. There is only one problem--can he not only love the woman holding the crop, but also the woman who is Lilly?

This is the second book that I read where the submissive is a male and I have to say that I loved it. The author does a great job enthralling me with the story, and into wishing that I had a cherry pie in the thrones of passion. I love how creative Ms. Burkhart is in her writing, how passionate her scenes were that at times I lost myself in them.

Donovan Morgan had been married before but there was something missing in his marriage. Then you have Lilly "Mistress L" Harrison, a woman who had been engaged before but her engagement was not done out of love. Her fiancé was a safe haven but then something happened to her brother and that made her come to her senses.

Donovan did his homework before he contacted Mistress L but he had no idea what he was getting himself into. He knew that he had his work cut out for him, and that his mouth and his demands are going to get him into some major trouble.

Lilly is a woman that knows what she wants and she will not bend over for a man; they usually do that for her or maybe kneel before her. She is well known in the clubs but is taken by surprise when she is approached to do a job. Lilly doesn't know how he knows that she is a Mistress, but if he wants a contract with her, it's going to be on her terms, not his. But he starts the talk so wrong, first when he insults her by insinuating that she's a prostitute. She is going to have her hands full with him. So the question is, will he be able to submit to her?
