The first few chapters were very repetitive and this really felt like a novella that was stretched into a novel. Mason was not that interesting and their constant miscommunication became annoying. It felt like a forced connection and there was very little "story".
It takes him a year of weekly phone calls to finally ask her out? He keeps telling her she's beautiful but she feels not even though she's a "supermodel"? And that she's too big (even though she says constantly that she accepts that.) He's feels that he's too large (everywhere) and hasn't had sex since college? They both needed therapy.
However, I’ve found myself liking her stuff less and less. With these newer titles I’ve had to ask myself if they were worth paying $ for (since they’re not in KU). Of late, the answer has been no.
However, this one was pitched/sold/promoted as a “let’s make a baby even though we’re not in a relationship” book and that is a trope that usually works for me.
I wish I’d been warned that THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS BOOK IS ABOUT.
It might be the initial setup but extremely early on she abandons the idea of a baby and that’s never mentioned again.
What is mentioned over, and over, and over, and over until I wanted to vomit was that:
1. She’s a supermodel who is plus-sized but still healthy. We get it. For real. I got it the first 20 times.
And 2. His p*nis is just toooo big.
Really. That’s what this book is about: her being a model who is a “healthy weight” and him having too much below the belt.
Add to that a very problematic “good guy with a gun” take on mass shootings and you have the reason I didn’t even make it to the end.
And why I desperately wish I’d saved my time and money.
Laura and Mason met at her best friend Brynn's engagement party to Mason's brother where she drunkenly confesses her dream of having a child before passing out. She wakes up the next morning in her own bed with no recollection of how she got home. She thinks Mason took her home and tucked her in bed but never asks him about it. Mason is in very unfamiliar waters with Laura, as he does not have a lot of experience with dating and communication with woman, especially the one he really likes. Instead of talking about it all he settles for a weekly quick call to make sure Laura does not have a baby with anyone else even if its through artificial insemination. Eventually Mason musters up the courage to tell Laura she needs to consider him as potential father for her child and he very business-like supplies her with all his medical and personal information at the wedding reception. Not the most romantic but his heart was in the right place. Laura is floored and decides to decline.
When his brothers get involve and force him to have a vacation, he spends it with Laura, and their romance and friendship takes off. The importance of communication plays a big role in this book and how the lack of communication can lead to misunderstandings.
This is a very sweet and emotional book and I loved how the characters grew in the relationship as friends as well as lovers. It was wonderful to read about a successful, rich self made plus size woman finding love and a man who saw the beauty within her.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Laura decides to decline Mason in person, but when they met, they realised that they onw insecurities and fears are their worst enemies. Carter and Jet decided, that Mason needs vacation and literally locked him out of his office. Laura try to help him having fun, and the sparks between two starts really big fire of passion and love.
This is one of most funniest book in the series. I really love, how J.S.Scott teach us, that every woman is beautiful. And that size of cloth doesn't define us, but only our heart. In this books are many positive affirmation, that everyone of us should never forget. Our worst enemy is our own fear and insecurity.

I think this book will definitely touch so many people in so many levels as there are loads of topics which people can relate to. Insecurities, body image, broken families and so much more, it will melt your heart and will stay with you even after finishing the book.
Author J.S. Scott has really used this story to explore the issues with body image and body possitivity and I couldn't be prouder and happier that someone took that stand and spoke for so many of us, we are all a little broken, we have all experienced heartache and this story, for me, left me with a wonderful message; love yourself, accept who you are, in accepting this you will discover happiness is there withing your grasp and everyone else around you will not be the makers or breakers of your misfortunes or your success, they will only enhance what you already have.
Mason and Laura's story is a MUST read a page-turner and a wonderful and welcome addition to the Billionaire's Obsession series. One of my favourite books to date.
5 BIG BRIGHT STARS. Isa for JoandIsalovebooks Blog.
I liked Mason's attitude to her curves & his fear his physical size may hurt her. I respected an Alpha admitting to his own insecurities but the rest of him - Nah!😳
I didn't think there was that much storyline to this book, if you take away both of their insecurities & her being plus size in the modelling industry, there isn't really much substance left unfortunately!😢 I'm intrigued by Hudson & his family though, which was perhaps the real point?

Every time it has my heart beating fast with love that evolves with the 2 main characters. But you get sucked into the story no matter what is being read. Definitely a highly recommended series.
Mason is the quiet, grumpy, workaholic until he first meets Laura a single women, desperately considering being a single mother with a sperm donor. When she has a decision to make she reverts to drink and cake. That's how they meet, at her best friends engagement party. She steps outside as she starts to have her questions suffocate mind. It doesn't take long for Mason to see her and ask her what the hell she's doing. Everything from then on is a story worth reading...
Roll on the Hudson family
Well it seems that Mason is bedazzled with Laura. Obsessed even. This is following a drunken declaration by her that at a party that she wanted a child and was going to have it by artificial insemination to achieve her aim. Surprisingly Mason offered to help her the usual way and be the baby's 'daddy'. But what did Laura say? Did she accept?
Then she blacks out and unknown to her and against Mason's normal instincts, he took her the back exit from the hotel, took her home, undress her and put her to bed. All in the spirit of a gentleman.
Laura does not know who took her home and best friend suggests that she asks Mason. If you want to know the answer you will have to read this intriguing book and find out yourself.
