Ok, flash-forward 15, yes, count them, 15 years! Nate has decided to leave the Marines and wants to contact Lauren even though he has not spoken to her in 15 years! No phone calls, letters, emails or texts. But,...wait for it, Nate has always loved Lauren and never stopped thinking about her. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So he comes home and wants Lauren to just start back where they were 15 years ago without any hard feelings or good explanations.
Lauren, in the mean time, has not moved on either and is emotionally cripples and a whiner. She is also dating Kevin, a rich guy, who she:
1) Does not really love but she might eventually.
2) Feels no real emotion for.
3) Dislikes his associates and family.
4) Doesn't mind him brushing off her job, family, feelings.
5) judges herself and others by their money and wealth, not how they treat her, example her best friend.
All the characters are emotional immature and don't really seem to grow or change. They were so shallow. This was not a romance but one whiny character after another. The only really romantic moment in the whole book was at the end, but by then, I did not care.
This is book 5 in a series. I have not read the other books.
