The story started out a little slow but after a few pages, I couldn't put it down. Maddie and Gavin are great characters that both have trust issues. I was either crying, laughing or shaking my head at their antics.
I was given a free book for an honest review but have also purchased one. I highly recommend it.
It’s a rocky start to true love for these two, but as the relationship develops they both look deeper and discover the unexpected in both themselves and the other person. Maddie finds there is more to life than her struggling modeling career and social media. Gavin has lost his father and is losing his mother, but if he let’s himself care about Maggie, only to lose her too, he may never recover. Gavin may just been the perfect hero. He’s a billionaire who doesn’t flaunt his money or bed a different woman every night, and he’s loyal and caring with his family and friends. I was fortunate to get an advance copy of this book and loved everything about it, especially the interplay between the two main characters. It was deep and rich with emotion, and serves as a reminder about what is really important in life. Thanks to this author, I’ll never look at saying “I love you” the same way again, and I’ll always remember that nothing is impossible.
Be prepared with a box of tissues. Billionaire's Fake Fiancee is predominantly a testament to a son's love for his mother who is dying from breast cancer. Gavin sell his father's business to pay for his mother's cancer treatment and spends a relatively solitary and lonely life caring for his mother, working out and, hanging out with his best friend. Ironically while faking a romance and marriage, Gavin falls in love with his best friend Ron's cousin Maddie. While the majority of the book is sad, the loving relationships of the parents shine through, Gavin finds love with Maddie, and Gavin rediscovers his love of writing resulting in a well rounded novel and a happy ending. Unfortunately, my reading enjoyment was limited by many typos.
Maddie is from a poorer family struggling with debts. Maddie and her best friend have had a dream of becoming successful models/actresses. To be successful, they have to have a presence on social media and gain new followers everyday. They have to be constantly taking selfies and posting which is getting a little old.Her friend has just been given a big modeling job in California but Madison is still struggling. Her cousin Ron invites her to his friend's dinner where his mother announces she is losing her battle with cancer. Maddie overhears Gavin and his mother discussing her last wishes. She decides that they can help each other out. She could marry him and be a loving wife until his mother dies and in return he could pay her half a million dollars which she could use to help her family and give her career the boost it needs.
Gavin is horrified by her proposition and has a low opinion of her. However his mom's failing help and last wish makes him finally agree. Gavin and Maddie pretend they are in love and get married. Somehow though the pretending might be turning real.
This is a good book but I wasn't too thrilled with the shallow heroine. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Gavins mum only has 6 months to live and she wants to see her only son get married and settled before she goes
Maddie needs money, she hears about Gavins plight and offers to do it for half a million dollars. Gavin's mum loves Maddie so he has no choice, but he thinks Maddie is a gold digger and does not like her
This is a beautifully written, and at times emotional romance story. I love the chemistry between Maddie and Gavin and how their relationship grows. The writer really draws the reader in and you feel for both characters. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it, I think this is my favourite Claire Adams story to date
