‘This set of books really are excellent. I have looked at two of them with my class and they have both been enjoyed. Also, amazingly, they all seem to get the important message. For example, in this book, self-confidence. A tiny bit slow here and there but, otherwise, excellent pacing and well-written.’ Primary teacher, aged 49
‘I liked this story. The hero, Billy, lacks confidence so won’t be in the school play. But, when Ant is injured, he might have to step in to save the show. I like books with theatre in them so this was a plus for me. The book is easy to follow – I’m 12 by the way – and there’s a lot of interesting characters to follow. I also enjoyed the ending.’ Girl, aged 12
‘I love putting on school plays so I jumped at the chance to read this. The play is sort of secondary to the plot. It’s more about Billy and his fight to feel confident. I liked it. The author didn’t talk down to me.’ Boy, aged 13
‘Any book that can tackle a negative character trait and show how positively things can turn out if you face up to a problem, has my vote.’ Headteacher (primary), aged 62
‘Any young child who lacks self-confidence, should read this book. A FINALIST and highly recommended.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

‘The books were really cool, they kind of had a moral to each of them and you didn’t realise until you thought about it afterwards – Everyone should read them because then there wouldn’t be so many worried, unappreciative and bullied children’ ( my very grown up 11 year old).
‘The books were like stories – what was so important about them?@ To which I replied nothing special, they are just story books, how do you think Billy felt when he had to give his birthday money away?
‘Scared, sad and obviously upset’ to which I replied And how do you think Eddy felt when the police were called?
‘scared, and sorry for being mean’
Who would you rather be?
‘doh mum clearly Billy’. ( my very matter of fact 10 year old)
I really love the way in which the books are written, at first glance they appear wordy but once you start reading them that soon disappears. I really like the downloadable activity books that come with each, these are really useful for the children and parents to work through together as it easily starts the communication.
