As a person who graduated both from the Insanity and the P90X program, I decided to do Tae Bo Amped and Tao Bo bootcamp to mix up my routine. My body was also starting to get worn just from the high intensity of doing those workouts. When I first did Ultimate bootcamp, it wore me out. Seriously. I had to take breaks. Tae bo Amped has some excellent workouts, though to me they aren't as intense as Insanity, but they are still hard. It's low impact, but you are moving constantly and changing speeds, so it's a great alternative in my opinion.

Cardio Inferno is 50 minutes, and you pretty much go nonstop. I sweat enough to the point where I was able to ring out my headband, which was soaked, so as long as you give it your best you'll burn those calories. There are a couple of times during the workout will Billy will give some kind of motivational speech, and usually what the others do is walk in place for a minute or so. Most of the workout is go go go. For me, I take that as an opportunity to do something else, like jog, do push ups or some other exercise..something to keep my heart rate going. I recommend it.

I dont normally write reviews, but I would like to address some of the negative reviews...I actually burned 690 calories, with stopping and taking breaks so actually doing the entire workout nonstop Im sure I could burn the 800 calories indicated....To the people who claim they didnt sweat or indicate that the workout was 'disappointing" there is no way you did the entire video without breaks, and without sweat'n and if you did you should consider the Iron Man Comp...b/c you are truely a beast.. bottom line good workout, it does what it says...you will burn alot of calories...

I wanted to give a review on this because of all the negativity Ive seen so far. Ive been doing Tae Bo for about 10 years. I alternate these, running, and Jillian Michaels. This is NOT for a beginner. Cardio Inferno is one of the best videos Ive ever done, and I recommend it to anyone! I can say this-if you like Tae Bo, then you will love this workout.

Used this DVD for this first time yesterday. All the moves are easy to do except the soccer step, still working on that combo, however, as I did this workout I was reminded of how much I love Billy Blanks. His warm personality and motivating style really inspire me to stay fit and work out to the best of my ability. This wasn't the hardest workout I've done, but I did feel like I worked every part of my body, especially my abs. Loved the stationary moves in this workout also, where you can concentrate on one body part, like the quads. Give this DVD a try, you might be surprised.

This workout kicks butt! I used to do Tae Bo everyday after school in high school when Billy Blanks first was becoming popular with the Tae Bo Insructional, Basic, and Advanced workout VHS's.

I recently discovered knee problems when I was training for a marathon. Running was the only workout I could really get into, but I had to take a break from it because I did not want to injure myself permanently. I knew I had to find something. I grabbed an old Yoga DVD and in a conversation with my roommate she mentioned she had bought a Tae Bo DVD from a $5 dollar bin, so I was ecstatic since I remembered loving Blanks in high school.

I'm 26 now and when I first did this workout I was in okay shape and it kicked my butt. I had to take breaks and could not get through all the sets for certain exercises. After 3 weeks of doing this roughly 2-3 times per week, I still struggle with getting through some of it.

The only negative thing I can think of is that Billy does take a long time motivating and talking during the combat kick sequence, but I just continue on doing them as he talks. And it's funny because he talks about being your own leader during that time, so I would recommend taking his advice during that time to do whatever exercise you like. I also recommend pausing it in between lunges on each side, because they are really difficult. It's the one exercise I still cannot get all the way through.

As far as seeingn mprovements, I'm sore every morning the day after I do the workout, so I know it's working my muscles. I've noticed tone in my legs and arms, but not much since it's only been 3 weeks. I've also been running and doing yoga. I went for my first 4 mile run in a long time where my knees did not bother me afterward, and it's probably due to all the leg squats I do during this video. I ordered 2 other Tae Bo DVDs since I love this one so much and cannot wait to add them to my routine.

As someone who is familiar with Taebo, I have to say....this one was not as hard as I thought it would be. I did not sweat as much as I thought....because it says CARDIO INFERNO. I figured I'd be POURING sweat. I did sweat, but nothing like I should have. Max Intensity Taebo still stands as the best to me. Surprisingly, there was more static poses than cardio, it seemed, and I did not feel like my heart rate was elevated enough for a cardio workout. I liked the fact that the crew in the back were the people I'm used to and stuff, but this one really didn't do it for me. Now, I just did it once today. This is really just going on a first impression. But usually if it's ok now, it's ok then for me. I'll try it again another time, but I just wish it was harder.
