Now for the characters let me say that I could tell that the author had started out with some of the back ground but left them to grow the more you read. In other words they pulled me in a little at a time. Always wanting and hoping that in the next chapter it would tell me more. I am not going to give away any of the book. The Synopsis is great to pull you in if you love mystery, intrigue, fantasy, love stories of young being promised to each other but not sure after growing up if it is what they want. Then this book or series is for you. So for the reasons above I will be giving this book (and if I had a higher one I would give more)
My Breath Of Life Rating of:
Five Clock Rating!!
Disclosure: I did receive the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and or review. But the Opinions are my own and yours may differ.
-the chapters were very short and jumped between the male and female lead characters. I felt disorentiated at times from the jumping as it would back track moments or long into the story, so there was ALOT of retelling.
-the end just happeneds. It is like it is missing a chapter or something. The action is building, and then just stops. I know this is a technique in YA lit to have cliff-hangers, but unless you are really good at it, don't do it. And indie authors have to be especially wary because there are not the editing support staff to make it work. Even in big publisher books, sometimes it does not work. It leaves the reader feeling cheated. I just paid for this book (I didn't for this one, but it is no longer free, so anyone buying it should know) and then it is not a complete story and the author expects me to pay to finish the book by buying the next one.
my rating is a 3 because I got it free- otherwise I would have rated it lower.
Lily Micheals is half human and half Sidhe, she lost her brother 4 years prior and now he is back and intent to kill her. Tharin, along with his twin brother and their 3 cousins are there to save and bring back Lily to united the clans and stop a upcoming war, well when Lily finds out that she is to wed Tharin and she put up her defenses and fights to save the brother she lost and wants her help him become the brother she lost. Well until she learns that Tharin has a lover waiting for him, her self esteem goes down and will do anything to stop falling for this arrogant prince. Along with her she brings her close friend not just for company but to also protect her from her abusive stepfather and step brother that used her as their own personal punching bag, but Tharins twin Tolan falls for the beaten Julia and well do anything to help her accept him. Well Lily's brother that may not be a brother, but there is her actual twin brother she dont know existed is also out to kill her. This is not a bad full length story but there is a lot of back and forth between Lily and Tharin but also the emotions are mixed up.
