Bicycle hub dynamos are the perfect source of green power — a dynamo generator embedded in the hub generates free electricity while you ride. The ReeCharge Dynamo Kit allows you to use this power to charge your phone or other device on your bike. Use your mount or one of ours (sold separately). Requires use of a supplementary battery pack to charge iPhone (sold elsewhere separately). A power converter with safety circuit conditions the power and keeps the device you’re charging protected from surges.

If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that you pretty much have to mount this thing on your fork. I think I'd rather be able to tuck this away in my handlebar bag and have a quick release connection with a wire running down to the hub. But since this thing is so cheap, I'm not too worried about it getting stolen off my bike. It will be an inconvenience, but not an expensive loss. And if you don't have a handlebar bag always on your bike, then you'll probably want to mount it on the fork anyway.
As a previous reviewer suggested, I bought a small USB battery pack to work as a cache battery between the hub and my smartphone (or other USB devices I'm charging). I bought the Limefuel 6000 mAh battery: http://amzn.com/B00FW0TM5W. This battery pack definitely supports pass-through charging (or passive charging) so you can charge the battery pack and use it to charge another USB device. So for $55 you get a system to charge USB devices including a 6000 mAh cache battery! Not shabby compared to the cost of other options. You could use this device without a cache battery, but only if your USB device doesn't mind the power being interrupted when you stop rolling for more than say 10 seconds.
