I’ve been experimenting with this gel cleanser, which is more of an all-purpose cleanser (it’s not an alcohol-based makeup remover), but it’s very easy on the skin and doesn’t leave any residues (I think is very important). I don’t like using Bioderma on a daily basis, so finding a decent substitute with the properties that I need was key and I’m happy that I did.
I’d say use Bioderma if you have a lot of non-waterproof makeup or foundation to remove, but if you’re looking to just clean your face and not harm your skin then you should try the NuNutrients gel cleanser on a daily basis.
The product looks real; however the barcode is crossed out and there is a sticker with a Greek label. Who knows where this from, where it has been and how the seller got it. Bioderma clearly is not encouraging the sale of their products in the US. Wish they would change their mind, but I am not putting anything in my eyes again that I don't now exactly who made it and how it got there.
Also, I once bought Bioderma overseas and it was fantastic but there's something off about this one; I need to wipe my face 4-5 times to actually get the makeup off. It seems like the formula was made thinner by adding water or something.
if you're planning to buy Bioderma try to get it else where and don't waste your $30 on something like this.
It has the consistency of water, no smell and does not irritate my eyes at all. It gets rid of waterproof mascara quite well. There is something about the science behind the "micellar solution" that breaks down makeup very effectively with no residue or drying effect.
This cleanser is nothing short of AMAZING; you will not regret buying it if you use any makeup at all.
Update: Amazon tells me I bought this product 6 months ago and I've still got about a quarter of a bottle left of the 500 ml. I use it perhaps 5-6 times a week. Very cost effective.
The product has no scent and the texture is remarkably like water! I am no scientist and don't really no what micellization is, but whatever it is, it makes for an amazing cleanser.
I haven't used a soap-based facial cleanser for a long time, and my usual cleansing routine is the Shu Uemura oil cleanser. The Shu Uemura oils are really expensive, over $70 USD. I found the Bioderma Crealine (also known as Sensibio now) to be a great alternative (and cheaper) to my old routine. I find it very effective for removing even heavy eye makeup and dark lip colors. When I soak cotton pads and place them over my eyes and gentle press to release the product on my lids, the dark shadows, gel eyeliners and mascara lift easily into the cotton pads.
There is no need to scrub vigorously to get the makeup off. It is not as fast and easy on waterproof mascara, but does take a few more times to get it off. It comes off, just takes longer. In that case, I will use a separate bi-phasic eye makeup remover.
It will also take off foundation, any sunscreen, base product off the rest of your face. You will be amazed at how much gunk comes off. I rinse with water afterwards and my face feels completely clean and refreshed with no dryness or any irritation.
I think I've found a lifetime cleasing product!
