I do not like to leave bad or unfavorable reviews for companies but sometimes the products are just no good and an unfavorable review is all you can do. I have used several others, in search of "the one" I find best results with and also to see if using Vitamin C topically really affects skin at all. The only way to do this was to experiment with a different brands. New York Biology Super Vitamin C Serum was one. I am sorry to say I did not prefer this brand of Vitamin C from this New York Biology. I take great care of my over all health and my skin (people literally are floored when they learn my age, having guessed me younger by 18-20 years. (True Story) I know that this is not just due to product use but living a healthy lifestyle, good genes, drinking plenty of H2O eating vitamin rich whole foods and exercise. However, using good quality products and knowing how to use them too adds to the over all results, which is glowing, vibrant healthy looking skin--it is that which, in truth, this effect is what every one associates with being youthful! Having said all of the above, and having tried different brands, it's unfortunate but New York Biology Super Vitamin C serum did not deliver.
It was very watered down. Serums aren't the thickest of components but they aren't as thin and as diluted as I felt this was.
It was sticky on application. Yes, Vitamin C's will be sticky if you use too much--I do know the proper amount to apply and still it left my skin sticky.
I had a few break outs using it. I have clear, unblemished skin (not bragging but I am proud of it as I do take care)
It had a strange orange color that only turned darker (Yes, I kept it out of light, I know how to use and take care of products) which made me hesitant to continue using it after a while.
It had a strange scent, as if it were deliberately scented to smell like orange or citrus.
Once the color changed really dark I just stopped using it all together and bought a different brand, Vitamin C by Eve Hansen. It's alright, much better than New York Biology Vitamin C Serum.
The high price tag for poor quality
Out of all the Vitamin C products I've bought and used, the one I have consistently had good results with is Watts Beauty brand. I do not like the name--it sounds like something cheap and unrelated to anything having to do with beauty. What is "Watts" beauty? I don't know who "Watts" is but if she is the woman behind the products, I stand with her. Thus far, that brand, that company and most of their products I've used and seem to find myself returning to again and again. I would not buy another product from New York Biology based on my experience with their Vitamin C Serum. That's sad and unfortunate because I believe everyone has a right to grow a phenomenal business and have success, but in doing so you must create good products that deliver good results. For me, this product falls short.
