We bought this heater during the winter of 2010 and love it. It is silent and does a great job of heating our living room or bedroom when the temp falls. No need to turn on the central heat - we just heat the room we are in. Saved a bunch in electric bills this year alone.

Received this unit a week ago and very much satisfied with it's results. we are in one bedroom apartment and using it for our living room. Our living room is spacious with higher ceilings than usual apartments. its working just perfect to keep our living room and our adjacent dining area cozy. I would recommend this product.

Use heater to heat a 12x14 room and it does an excellent job. Takes about 2 hours to heat room, but keeps me extremely warm throughout the night, even amidst sub-zero temperatures outside. As the previous review mentioned, I generally do not use my furnace as this saves on a gas bill.

Back does not get hot, nor do the sides. Does not seem to be any risk of burning your hands/body or starting a fire. Overall - very impressed, would suggest item to anyone!

The main reason I bought this heater is to hang it on the wall which I found very simple, I have it hung on dry wall and it gets verrrrrrry hot on the back... so my solution was to buy 2 pieces of special fabric that you would use to wrap studs when you are working with an open flame when saudering pipes.

You will find it at lowes or Home Depot in the plumping section, I put two pieces behind the heater and I sleep worry free at night... it does an excellent job heating a 12x12 room on its lowest setting.. yep you read this right "lowest setting"

I gave this five stars because it does an excellent job at heating up rooms. This heater even heats up our large living room rather nicely! I just wanted to throw out there the warning about the clicking noises because that is something I would have wanted to know before I bought this unit.

I bought this unit after researching, and trying, several other heaters for our daughter's room. Her room is always much cooler than our masterbedroom. I didn't like the other portables because they were too noisy. Even though my daughter would appear to sleep through the noise, I figured it couldn't be good for her and had to interupt, on some level, her sleep.

I went with this heater because of all of the reviews raving about how silent this heater is, which is true on some level. During the operation, it is virtually silent, however, there is a clicking noise upon startup and shutdown of the heating elements. I didn't knock this item with a less than five star review because all of the heaters I have tried click on and off. This heater at least doesn't blow a fan while it's on so on a certain level, it is all around quieter.

But if you are a light sleeper and don't sleep with some kind of white noise to drown out noise, this unit does click loud enough to either keep you awake, or wake you up. To clarify what I mean about the clicking upon startup; unless you have this heater on an always on setting, it will cycle on and off depending on what level you have it set on. The lower the setting, the more frequently it will click on and off. If you are in a mid to small size room, you will have to have it on a very low setting, otherwise it will melt you down after an hour or so because it heats so well. This is when it will bother you most if you are a light sleeper, because it clicks everytime it cycles on and off.

Hope this review helps those understand that aspect of this unit.

I like the heater it puts out plenty of heat and is real quit, but the knobs are hard to turn no grip to them very slippery, and the unit gets very hot on the back side. You are suppose to be able to hang the unit on the wall but when it's on high I can't even put my hand on the back with out it being to hot to touch. Bad design the and it might even start a fire . i'd be very careful. Needs to have a lot more insulation on the back.

I bought this to heat my downstairs office--which is usually pretty cold. It works far better than I thought it would--I've been moving it to the bedroom on cold nights. This heater puts off quite a bit of heat--I have to keep it on a low setting or the room get too hot. I'm not sure how big of a room it could heat but so far it's worked extremely well in small to medium sized rooms. Like others have probably noted--it is not direct heat--heats the room slowly over time--but it does not take long. Haven't seen much of a difference in my electric bill--but I keep it on the low setting most of the time. I highly recommend it.

After one month of use, the low-power coils failed on this unit. This means that when I operate it on LOW I get NOTHING but when I turn it on HIGH I get half power, which is not enough to keep our poorly-insulated addition warm. While both sets of coils were still working, it was a great unit. This one has analog controls (no digital thermostat) and no remote, which is just fine with me.

The back definitely gets too hot to hang on a drywall (regular household) wall. If you were to tile an area for it, that could be a long-term solution. We were happy to let it sit on the floor and enjoyed the radiant portion of the heat on our legs under the kitchen table.

Now I will have to return it and I am not looking forward to the hassle. I will definitely try a different model - I very rarely give second chances and not to a brand I am unfamiliar with.
