The cable length was long enough to reach a top 5.25" drive bay in a Cooler Master RC-922M HAF ATX Mid Tower Case. Since the Biostar CABLEUSB30 panel comes as a 3.5" profile, it was first mounted in a SilverStone 3.5" to 5.25" Front Panel Bay Converter panel (model FP55B) and then mounted in a 5.25" front drive bay in the Cooler Master case. Note - If used without a 3.5" to 5.25" converter, the box includes all the hardware you'll need to add the two USB 3.0 ports to a rear expansion bay on a desktop PC.
It's great to have these two front panel USB 3.0 ports in addition to the two rear USB 3.0 ports already on the ASUS motherboard's edge connector.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of this product.
Would like to see this Part offered with Mount for (2) 2.5 inch Drives Mounted behind USB 3.0 Bracket. Hope to use this with a SILVERSTONE SDP08 3.5 to 2 X 2.5-Inch Bay Converter. Not certain yet if they will fit in same Drive Bay. Would make excellent use of space for USB 3.0 & SSDs in a Desktop.
Installed on GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard (rev. 1.x). Has 2 ports available through the internal USB header (Keyed 19 Pin F_USB Header). Otherwise, try Ordering Gigabyte Part #: 12CR1-FPX582-01R - 2 Outlet USB 3.0 Female 3.5 in. Bay Front Panel with Cable to IDC Female Header Connector. This part from Biostar is less expensive & easier to find!
The Biostar panel is well-constructed with a long cable. It looks nice and mounts in a 3.5" bay. If you don't have a free 3.5" bay it can be used in one of the slots for a rear expansion bay and it comes with the adapter and screws needed.
I'm thrilled that I found this item and at such a great price!
The fit of this product in my 3.5" drive bay seemed a bit awkward, but it works OK. The "rails" on the side of the unit aren't very long - they only go back a couple of inches - so you may only be able to get one screw into the sides. If the overall "casing" of this unit was more the size of a regular floppy disk drive, it would be a bit easier to install and would be just slightly sturdier. Don't get me wrong - as long as you can get one screw in each side, it should stay fine (I can push on mine firmly and it doesn't budge). But the thing does have two screw holes on each side so I felt like I should be able to use them!
Seconds after placing my order I went back to the product page and noticed that the price had gone up about 2x (I paid around nine bucks and it was 18 or 19). It wasn't on sale when I made the purchase. This isn't necessarily a problem - Amazon is free to charge whatever and change their prices whenever - but I almost bought two, but decided to hold off and see how the first one worked. Now I won't get one because I'm not paying twenty bucks to have USB 3 ports on the front of my 2nd PC.

When I rebuilt my PC, my only reluctance to keep the case I love was that it lacked any external USB 3.0 ports (they weren't invented yet when I bought this case). Read morePublished on March 2, 2014 by K. Langeneckert

This panel works great for bringing your USB 3 ports/headers up front. My only complaint is the side rails are a bit flimsy and have to be held against the cage while screwing it... Read morePublished on May 30, 2013 by Musixz
