Structural Bird Netting is made of ½” heavy duty, polypropylene netting that creates a physical barrier to block pest animals and birds from entering, roosting, nesting, feeding, & causing damage. The UV stabilized material can withstand the outdoors without deteriorating or losing strength. When properly installed Structural Bird Netting is 100% effective and maintenance free in sealing away pest animals while allowing moisture and light to come in.

After getting about 3 years life out of the lighter 3/4 inch version of this netting, we decided to replace it with this "structural" netting for two reasons. The 3/4 inch netting allowed tiny clever birds to enter, and the lighter weight material tore when wrapped around sharp stone corners. This netting is definitely heavier duty, giving us the impression that it is about 3 times the weight. It is so strong that it has a mind of its own when wrapping it around corners and bends, and it does not drape as nicely. All things said, we like it and keep our fingers crossed that it will hold up better than the far less expensive 3/4 inch material. The only reason I docked the product 1 star is because we ordered 100 feet but were shorted 3-5 feet of material (it was cut crooked). I suppose we could have stretched it an extra 5 feet, but it was sent to us in a relaxed state and should have measured 100 feet when relaxed. So far it seems to resist tearing as easily when it catches a button now and then, or we accidentally snag and pull on it some other way. It definitely keeps out the birds while allowing in the bees. Another concern that I had was that the denser material might hinder our view of the garden. About the only time we notice it is when the sun hits it at an angle that produces a soft shinny reflection on the face of the vertical netting.

Given a number of reviews noting short rolls, I measured it with a 100' steel tape before using it. I had several extra feet.

I've used bird netting for many years. This stuff was used to replace damaged curtain walls of a blueberry patch. Historically, the light stuff needed to be weighed down all the way around the patch to keep birds from slipping underneath. This heavier net solved that problem, thus eliminating an extra step. We have also had problems with medium sized mammals going right through the thin stuff. That does not seem to be a problem. With its heavier weight, I expect to get several extra years out of it.

Great quality, easy to install. I stretched it over a 60’ x 20’ frame and had a little trouble getting out wrinkles that were created when it was rolled at the factory. The netting is somewhat stiff so the wrinkles tend to stay even when stretched. Overall I am pretty pleased.
