I ended up purchasing a few of these planks and was very pleased with my order. Mine were made of acacia wood, which is a type of wood that grows in Africa, America, Asia and the Pacific coast. However, it originated in Australia and is native there. The wood is not only hard and robust, it is also very flexible and easy to work with.
Recommend also purchasing food grade mineral oil wood conditioner (the same used for a butcher block), to help keep the wood clean and properly conditioned.
