Bisa Butler's work is brilliant and deserves to be seen and appreciated by everyone!

A wonderful book on the ground-breaking and thrilling work by this exquisite artist! I can't wait to see Bisa Butler's fiber art/tapestries in person, but the reproductions in this book are terrific! Her work is truly original, in a class with Romare Bearden and Faith Ringgold but uniquely her own! I feel so lucky to have found Ms Butler's incredible portraits. I hope some of our New York museums--the Met, MOMA, the Whitney--will add her extraordinary work to their permanent collections!

I like the reference to community, ancestors and family in the composition of the work. Fabric is the soul of women artists who work in it.
