As a bonus, each recipe comes with a family story about how the dish was enjoyed. It is a great way to enjoy the time while the food cooks in the oven, as well as learning expert tips such as always using Idaho potatoes.
I look forward to enjoying A Bisl of This, A Bisl of That: Eating Out Way by Judith Ellison Shenouda for years to come.
You’ll find uniquely delicious recipes for meats, seafood, chicken, carbs, veggies, fruits, cakes, cookies and pastries. There’s even a recipe for Upside Down Pizza!! I’ve already begun to compile my list of “must try” recipes. Just begin to read the ingredients in those appearing in the book and you’ll be drawn in by both the easily attainable rich ingredients and the simplicity of achievement.
Kudos to Judy for assembling and sharing this wonderful book that almost has you sitting at her family table sharing culinary history, as you imagine the aroma of home-made food that even you can easily duplicate.
AND, by serving up mix of story and recipe, Judy offers a guide to those of us who wish to capture our own family’s heritage. We can follow her path.
