I will note that Crucials return system is just as nice as Amazons. Contact them directly first before just clicking "return item" from within Amazon and they can send you a link to print out pre-paid return postage. A+ for their customer service.
I ordered a second one from Merchandise Mecca and it did fit. There was some minor intermittant squealing on first use, so hopefully its breaking in and not breaking down. Could be due to cheap bearings, but I'll use it until it burns up. I'm back in business for now.
That said, at least for the time being, it seems like it will do the trick. Our 6 1/2 year old Lift-Off Pet Revolution 18Z6 stopped spinning the agitator brush. I first tried replacing the belt (BISSELL Lift-Off Replacement Belt, 2 pk, 3200), and that spun the old agitator but then it would stop after 5-10 seconds. I noticed the two end pieces on the roller were no longer spinning freely and purchased this item as a replacement.
Inserting this *wood*, after-market replacement has got us vacuuming again.
I tried chasing down the right part number on Bissell's web site. They indicate part 203-2448 works with 18z61, so maybe if you want an OEM choice, this is a better option? I assume 18z61 and 18Z6 would use the same parts. See Bissell OEM Brush Roll 13.5" for Cleanview Helix, PowerForce, Rewind 203-2448
That said, it seems to work fine having only been able to use it a few times. But in five months will it cease like others have warned??? I'm really getting sick of planned obsolescence more in the waste of resources and the waste of my time having to repair stuff companies pay engineers six figures on how to break on schedule to better their bottom line than the opportunity to buy things well made that last as we used to be able to expect.
I am not sure why these rollers are the deaths of vacuums but I'm glad I found a replacement. The past roller was making this loud noise that got worse and worse as time went. When checking out Bissell's websites and manual for the vac, they mentioned it is wise to replace the roller every 6 - 12 months. Clearly the brush wear and it becomes less effective.
Overall Cheap Replacement!

Original roller would not spin, it looks like one end that attaches to the base of the vacuum was off centered. Read morePublished 10 months ago by G. Hwang
