Zing Bagless Canister Vacuum, 6489
How do I clean my whole home with the Zing?
The Zing Bagless Canister vacuum is a convenient whole-home cleaning system. Its lightweight, compact design makes traveling up stairs with the floor brush easy, especially since the Zing has a carrying handle. You can also attach the extension wand or combination crevice tool/dusting brush to capture dirt and dust from your above-floor surfaces. Variable suction control means that you can turn the suction down and even clean fabrics like curtains.
What is the difference between an upright vacuum and a canister vacuum?
Canister vacuums are low to the ground vacuums that have a long hose with a wand on the end. As you clean through the hose and wand, you pull the canister unit behind you. Upright vacuums stand tall and have a handle, which is used to push the vacuum. When cleaning carpets, the debris is removed through the foot or base of the unit. Most uprights also have a hose and on-board tools, which are typically used for hard to reach places and when cleaning furniture. At one time, canisters were thought to be easier to use for cleaning hard to reach places and for cleaning a larger variety of floors surfaces. However, the uprights of today have added cleaning features, such as bare floor height adjustments, brush roll on/off switches, and are easily maneuverable. In addition, the on board cleaning tools have made upright vacuums even more versatile.Although uprights are easier to use and more effective at cleaning larger areas in the home, they can still be a challenge when cleaning stairs. BISSELL’s Lift-Off offers the benefits of an upright, with a detachable canister that makes it easy to clean stairs and hard to reach places.
Canister Vacuum Cleaners
BISSELL canister vacuums are light and easy to maneuver. They’re great for stairs and other surfaces like curtains, upholstery, auto interiors, and more.
Cyclonic action and powerful suction provides thorough multi-surface cleaning.

I originally purchased the Zing to use downstairs on mostly hard floors (tile, wood, and terra cotta). Unfortunately, a week after I received it, our house flooded and I had to put it up for nearly six months. After renovating the house, we installed ceramic wood-look tile throughout the lower level and I was so glad to pull the Zing out again.
We have two dogs and two cats, so I need to use this daily. Our tile has a woodgrain texture to it, so sweeping and swiffering don't seem to cut it. I love how compact it is and how lightweight it is. It's very easy to use. I love the retractable cord and the hose storage. Emptying the canister is very easy and not messy (just don't empty it over a full garbage can!).
The suction power on this is great- I find that I have to move the curtains out of the way if I don't want them to get sucked in! We also have a few area rugs and this also works great on them. It's very easy to switch between hard floor/carpet and also to adjust the suction.
This was purchased for a little bit less than the current price, but I would pay full price for it. I have recommended to many friends who have hard floors. Definitely a great purchase!
Am I glad I ordered this! It actually outp0erforms the old Kenmore in every way, plus no silly bags to deal with - just drop it in the trash and move on.
I can actually SEE the better cleanliness of my hardwood floorboards with this Bissel product, over that of the Kenmore! Also it only weighs
about eight pounds, and with the attachments assortment I also bought, I've got a first-rate cleaning machine for well under $100.00!
I heartily recommend this product to anyone that is in the market for a vacuum.
Note .. do not use the floor end that comes with this vac. the one everyone is complaining about. But then don't use any of the other portable vac ends that come with your vac. BUY ONE THAT IS MADE FOR HARDWOOD FLOORS. I bought a ultra wide with soft brush ends, that pivots easily so I can vacuum underneath sofas and beds. pretty sweet ... = )
The hose is about 5' long with a curved plastic tube on the end that makes a good handle. It seems to be good quality, though time will tell of course. Two 16" extension tubes and two attachments complete the package and work as you would expect them to. There could be more, but then it would be more expensive. Anyway, it is all a standard size and I have some parts from other vacuums that fit on this one just fine.
The retracting cord is a really nice feature. I am going to treat it very gently and keep my fingers crossed in the hope that it keeps working.
On a side note....I went to donate this to my local thrift store that is a charity...too much hassle to return to Amazon. As I was dropping it off I noticed they had the Bissell Zing purple bagged version (https://www.amazon.com/Bissell-Bagged-Canister-Vacuum-4122/dp/B00AZBIV9Q) at the thrift store. It was marked down to $7.50 so I figured I'd grab it until I could find another vacuum. It was pretty beat up, so I didn't expect much. To my amazement the Bissell Zing 4122 was probably one of the best vacuums I've ever used. Unlike the pricier bagless, this unt is solid, doesn't tip over due to a lower design and undercarriage wheels, has a wonderful METAL telescoping wand and the suction was even better than the bagless. Bear in mind...this was a used, beat up vacuum and it completely outperformed this brand new pricier model. I really wanted a bagless, but the bags are very reasonable (about $2.33 per bag here on Amazon) and totally worth it to have a vacuum that performs this well. If the thrift store vac gives out I will most definitely buy the 4122 Zing model new.
