Bissell Stomp N Go Stain Lifter is a terrific product but hard to find locally in a retail store. You must order online and pay shipping. BUT it is better than anything else on the market, so it is worth it. My old cat eats too fast and throws up regularly on my off-white carpet. Nothing the vet has suggested has helped. But Stomp N Go helps me deal with it.

I do not use the pads until it has dried for 2 or 3 days (with a towel on top of it.) Then it just peels off with a spoon, and Stomp N Go removes any residual stain. If you try to do it too soon, it simply works deeper into the fibers of the carpet. Waiting is the key. After scraping it off and blotting off any moisture, I use a stain lifter pad and often wait longer than the instructions suggest before removing it.

The Red No. 2 in most pet food is hardest to get out. If any stain is left, I go back to the area when it is dry and use another pad; 9 times out of 10, it is successful. An important detail is not to press down on it at the beginning. Lay a towel on it lightly and ignore it for a few days before you begin the stain lifting process. The towel serves a dual purpose: it hides the offending area and reminds you not to step on it while you wait for it to dry. If you do, you simply push it down into the carpet, making the job a lot harder, if even possible. Stay away from it and be patient! Don't work on it while it is wet.

When some of the stains are smaller than the size of the Stomp N Go pads, I cut them to fit the area, but just slightly larger.
