    I've bee taking this stuff for years! It's made from a small Southeast Asian melon, and in India, they use this as a primary medicine to control blood sugar for diabetics. I have controlled my blood sugar just by taking this without any prescription meds at all, though my doc was annoyed at me when I told him that. :D This is one of the best-priced versions I've found, and it works VERY well. I highly recommend this supplement and this brand, if you are Type 2 Diabetic needing better blood sugar control. It works very well to take it with your Rx med, and no side effects that I've ever noticed.

    If you want to try Bitter Melon for your blood sugar issues, this is probably the most reasonably priced option currently on Amazon. It didn't give me heartburn or any digestive issues. However, I didn't notice any improvement in my blood sugar either. I tried one bottle of a more expensive brand without any change and worked through two bottles of this. If it made an impact it was negligible. It's great this seems to work for some people but for me it just didn't help.

    My wife is Type 2 and was drying her own bittermelon for awhile. We bought this product because we are going on a trip, and she wouldn't be able to use her own made tea. Anyway, we've had this for about 2 weeks now, and she started using 1 capsule, and then monitored her sugar, and increased it over time to 4 capsules, spread out over each day, and her sugar is good, so she thinks it works, but if she doesn't take the capsule, her sugar increases. Also, need to be careful because if too much, sugar drops too much. So bottom line is it seems to work similar to her own-made tea, but it's definitely not a long-going solution (need to use it continuously), but neither was the tea she made herself.

    This is another product to help keep my blood sugar from getting spikes and dips. It has been working pretty well because even on those days where I forget to take my diabetes meds, my blood sugar isn't changing much at all. I don't take it with the other product I purchased because I am trying to determine which will work best for me.

    DO NOT BUY.

    Does not work at all. Doesn't even have the aroma of Bitter Melon, which is a very distinctive (and not unpleasant) smell.

    Three capsules of average, *non-standardized* bitter melon will drop my blood sugar 50 mg/dL in an hour. Not these. I got no reaction whatsoever.

    AmerMed should reformulate their product with *standardized* bitter melon containing no less than 2% bitters. They are probably just a bottler run by a gym rat who decided he'd make a million bucks running a "vite and supp" operation. It takes more than that! But if you can get the real stuff and substantiate it with HPLC testing, I'll buy it again. (If you don't know what HPLC testing is, you should NOT be in the vite-and-supp biz!)

    Good luck to them, anyway. But stay away from this product until it's upgraded.

    The benefits of supplements are difficult to rate as they may take months to show and may have been combined with other lifestyle changes thereby making it unclear as to what really makes a difference.

    If you are a lay person with no access to any equipment with which to verify the ingredients and their quality then really what is there to do but make comments based on impressions?

    Here are what few facts I have: the seller sent the product quickly and it arrived promptly. There was no strange or chemical smelling odors from the product and finally they are easy to swallow with some water.
