**** I Love Story Time was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review ****

Jenna is in high school and is trying to keep her distance from the school bullies. She is looking forward to her senior year since it will be her last. She once dated Corey Winchester, the popular boy in school and the star football player. That all came to an end when they broke-up and Corey started spreading rumors about Jenna. Jenna doesn't know why Corey went from being with her to hating her so quickly. Corey is now constantly picking on her and so are all his friends.

I felt so bad for Jenna. She never did anything wrong but everyday she goes to school and gets picked on or called names just by walking down the halls of the school. I would hate to be her and have to deal with people that were once your friends...that turned their backs on you. One thing I did wish was that she would have stuck up for herself a lot sooner in the book. I wanted her to just say or do something back to them but she never did. Jenna did have a good friend named Mimi that was constantly talking crap right back to anyone that so much as looked at Jenna wrong. And boy did Mimi have some good comebacks......

"I think your lost buddy, president of the slut club is Marie Jameson." She replied in a sultry tone pointing to the end of the table. "But in case you can't find her let me draw you a map with some crayons, you go past leave us the f&@k alone, and turn right at f@&k off, and oh look you're in slut country."

Love it!! She not only has a sassy mouth. She also does give some great advice when Jenna needs it...

"Do what you think is right Jenna. Follow your heart. If you believe there is good in Rex then I'll support you no matter what.

Bittersweet Revenge (A Bittersweet Novella Book 1) by J.L. Beck
5 Stars

This is her first book, no DUCKING WAY; the author gives readers EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK!!!! The author sucked out all of my emotions in this book, and let me tell you that says something about who much work was put into this book, I loved it!! Jenna has been labeled a slut and bullied in High School; the leader of the bullying is Corey Winchester. Let me tell you, you are going to seriously want to throat punch him!!!! He is so mean, nasty and cruel; I cried and I felt so much rage inside of me. My heart bleeds for Jenna; she was just resigned to her life and the torture she endures, that she just kept a low profile.

Throughout the torture and bullying, Jenna had one constant in her life and that was her best friend Mimi. Their friendship was more than typical girl BFF friendship; they both stood up for each other, and were constantly pranking. Mimi is a funny character, and together there were a lot of laugh out loud moments (which made up for the crying like a baby ones). Ok, yes this is a high school setting book, but it felt real. We have friendships that break up, love and cliques. The characters, were real, the joke around, the curse, they fight, they talk about sex, go shopping, go to parties.

On the first day of Jenna’s senior year, she is prepared for the usually torture but her life also about to change in ways she never imagined. Jenna sees a sexy, hot new boy Rex Winchester, Rex happens to be her ex-boyfriend Corey’s cousin (DANGER RANGER)!!! Naturally, Jenna deals with a lot issues, the main is trust. Rex seems interested in Jenna, and slowly gets Jenna to lower her guard and trust him enough to start a relationship.

I just finished Bittersweet Revenge and I just loved it. Here is the thing though. I typically do not read high school stories. I don't know what it is. Too much drama, not enough of a story lie for me to not want to get involved, hell I don't know but I am so glad that I took a chance. I would have missed out on a great story!!!

Jenna is known as the own slut. Not by choice, but she is called that anyways. You feel bad for her when you know her story. It takes you back and I hope it puts you into a state of mind that you wouldn't have done that to her. I know I wouldn't have called her that. This is all done by her ex Corey. (Douche canoe!!!). Rex is his cousin and is new at the school. He wants Jenna but she is so very gun shy and hell I don't blame her. She takes a chance and it back fires on her. Rex is not who he seems, but of course he used her but fell in love with her but Jenna is done. This is their story on how things play out. You will enjoy this ride and you will want to know what happens in the next one! I'm sooooo there!!!!

Jenna is one tough chick! I admire her so much and I really appreciate that the author brought the subject of bullying to the light that she did. its a real problem and the author did an amazing job at being very graphic and real with this topic. It made Jenna's situation relatable. I really enjoyed this book. it was a really quick read as this is a novella but in that short amount of reading time you are packed with a lot of information but it flows well and it all works. Corey is a jerk but I really almost felt sorry for him that he is such a sad person. I loved Mimi at first but towards the end I really wanted to smack Mimi. I understand Mimi's tactics and concerns but I am really thinking that there may be more to Mimi than what has been revealed. I was apprehensive to Rex and when the big secret is revealed I became team Ryder. Wanna know more about Ryder well you have to read this awesome book then. Again kudos to the author for writing such a real book. I think that this is a great book for any age, no matter what you will be able to relate to the story that is happening. I cant wait for book two!!
