Thus resulting in several of his classmates wanting one. Surprised they haven’t done one with Star Wars characters.

This is for younger kids and my 10 year old got bored quickly. She unlocked all characters within the hour. It's not like Yamaguchi pets because you don't keep characters happy or alive, so there's no incentive to keep coming back. It's not a pet game.

My nieces and nephews love this thing--the strength of this toy is in the gimmick of the "screen," and the Disney Bitzee's animations are cuter and more involved than the original Bitzee. The gameplay itself feels like less of a grind to unlock all the characters, and it's easy to let the kid just sit with their favorite character as they unlock new ones.

This thing is SUPER delicate and while littler kids will be charmed by it, you'll need to watch them like a hawk. It can handle a bit more abuse than I would have thought, but it's still going to be ridiculously easy to break and if you're letting a younger kid play with it without closely supervising them, you're asking for the toy to be broken.

I thought this was going to be some sort of tamagotchi. Something the kids can take care of earn points and over time can earn a new pet. It's not. First, it's a very paper thin strip of led lights that flaps really fast to see the characters a clips. Ours came without being about to see the top of the characters heads and clips, and even then my 12yo was able to collect 7 characters in less than 15 mins.
The durability and color of the box looked great, but not the strip or led lights. The clips were cute, but only one clip for each character.

If you like tamagotchis then you might like bitzee. It's chill pet and it's a good desk top pet to have for days when you want to play with you tamagotchi but maybe can't have it out for the moment this is a good companion to have next to those. They don't die and it more a figet pet. Still fun for what it is.
