Review
"The heartfelt, beautiful tales in this collection speak eloquently to the great good fortune of those of us lucky enough to be owned by a house panther. Read and rejoice!"
Gwen Cooper, NY Times best-selling author of Homer's Odyssey
"Black cats have long suffered due to superstitions and been overlooked in shelters, so I'm very excited that this book showcases what wonderful, loving companions black kitties can be.
Laura J. Moss, founder of AdventureCats.org and author of Adventure Cats: Living Nine Lives To The Fullest.
"...you will find page after page of the most adorable, affable, intelligent, inquisitive, bright-eyed cats ever to light up your life and somehow claim both your sofa and home office chair at the same time."
Francesco Marciuliano, New York Times bestselling author of I Could Pee On This And Other Poems By Cats
"Layla Morgan Wilde had produced a long overdue volume of remarkable stories to ally centuries of prejudice towards black cats. The message is profoundly simple. Every cat deserves adoration and adoption regardless of outworn superstitions!"
Oskar The Blind Cat, children's book author, special needs advocate and celebrity cat.
"There's something about a black cat that sets my soul on fire--ebony magic dipped in starlight! That they are often passed by in shelters is a great loss to families looking to bring home a loving feline companion. Thank you, Layla, for sharing their stories and images so that others can see their beauty.
Christine Davis, award-winning author and illustrator of For Every Cat An Angel, Forever Paws and other inspirational titles from Light-Hearted Press
"Congratulations to Layla for helping redress centuries of discrimination, not to mention Pope Gregory IX's infamous Papal Bull. Thanks for all you do in the world on behalf of other sentient beings!"
David Michie, author of The Dalai Lama's Cat series and The Queen's Corgi.
"Black Cats Tell All is a feast for the eyes. Whoever said that black cats do not photograph well needs to receive a copy of this book with its full-color EXQUISITE photos!
Caren Gittleman, blogger at Cat Chat With Caren And Cody

Look, this is plainly and simply a pawsome collection of true tails (sorry, couldn't resist) of furbulous black cats and the humans that have been lucky enough to be rescued by them.
You will laugh. You will LOL even.
You will cry. In fact, Kleenex ought to have been a sponsor of this book.
You might get more than a little ticked off. As well you should, after reading about some of the near-death experiences of many of these kitties...solely because of the color of their fur.
Did you know black cats (and dogs) have the LOWEST adoption rate in "shelters", and therefore the HIGHEST chance of getting euthanized?!? That's CRAY, isn't it? I mean, just lookit these beautiful little panthers!
Yet, after getting rightfully ticked off, you're gonna LOL again after seeing rescued Rufus from Germany's pictures of "catching" dinner, and you're gonna reach for yet another Kleenex when reading Smoky's sad but happy but sad but happy Thanksgiving story.
Point is, Layla has created something magical here. Even more magical is that the profits are going to rescue organizations like Milo's Sanctuary in CA. They rescue the worst of the worst off kitties, like blind, deaf, FIV+ ones...
Hit "Add To Cart" already. I promise you nothing but warm fuzzies in return, especially since this book will turn YOU into an ambassador for black cats and rescued cats in general.
Ummm, don't forget to buy some Kleenex, too.
In Black Cats Tell All, Layla Morgan Wilde gathered, edited, and wrote the stories and records of many melanistic domestic cats and the ways they connected with humans to become household mini-panthers. Through skillful storytelling, sometimes in the "voice" of the cats themselves, and stunning photographs, we learn the histories of black kitties from many differing locations who have entered not only homes, but hearts. Each pairing of human and cat is different, and each cat displays its own individuality.
These narrations help to dispel the myths about black cats and bad luck; they illustrate that all cats make beautiful and affectionate companion animals for their humans who rescue, adopt, or just accept the cats at the door. Cats and humans love each other and that is good fortune indeed!
The writing and photography in this book make it a real treat for those of us who feel that of all the beautiful cats, black cats are just a little extra beautiful!
Highly recommended!
I keep my book in my car and take it into appointments with me. I usually can polish off one to two tales depending on how long I am waiting and the time flies by and I am in a good mood! Other "WAITERS" see the cover and ask me about it. They think it is a perfect idea.

Layla is always clever with her stories, “clever as a cat
This is such a charming and adorable look at Black cats.
Black cats are good luck and amongst the most intelligent of felines.
I have been fortunate to have traveled the world with a very tolerant black cat that was my devoted companion for 20 years.
