The Red Army's achievement in stopping the German offensive of 1942 is all the more impressive given that they were the air-inferior side across the vast majority of the Eastern Front. The book is divided into 19 chapters, the last of which is an overview of the war in the six month period selected. The thesis is that the Germans had a qualitative advantage but because of vastly greater Soviet aircraft production, this was the last time during the war they would experience an absolute advantage.
The unsuccessful attempt to supply the Sixth Army strictly from the air is unfortunately part of Volume 4 of the series. If these books were just a little cheaper I would buy them all, but at their actual price, that would be irresponsible.
