This is an awesome do it yourself book for landscaping and building decks, patios, walkways, walls, fences, and other outdoor projects like a firepit, archway, grilling station, etc. The only drawback is that the book shows just one or maybe two options on how to do the projects, and it is an overview guide of how to do the project. There's not an extremely detailed layout so you'll need some handyman skills already, but this book gives great guidance and ideas, and tells you what you'll need to do the job.

I received this book promptly and was delighted to see the colorful pictures on each page with step-by-step instructions on how to complete the project. This book offered many more ideas on projects I didn't even know I was interested in doing. Great Book for the excellent price!

I bought this book for my son as a birthday gift. He is newly married and is starting projects around his home. It is a brilliant book - he loved it, it will give him advice on projects for years to come. There are good projects in the book that most people will want to do. It will be a book used time and time again. As you know if you get it wrong at the very start of a project no matter what you do it will still not turn out well. This book gives you the information to successfully complete projects. Would recommend the book to anyone tackling first time projects or can't seem to get their projects looking professional.

I love to do projects around the home and yard. I browse books looking for those with REAL information rather than vague thoughts and lots of pictures. This book delivers. The projects are borne out in detail with enough pictures and step by step information to actually be useable and practical guidelines. I have used the information her to build a deck, a covered proch and am going to tackle several more projects as well. If you are a do it yourselfer this will be one of the better books you ever find. Mine has proven invaluable and of great assistance. Get it........you will love it.

This was by far, one of the best DIY books, I've purchased. It arrived "NEW" and full of ideas. Only problem is I don't have enough property to do them all. Fantastic as an Idea book, or DIY bible...

as mentioned elsewhere in the do-it-yourself department, two sons went through their used-home repair-and-rebuild phases with old-fashioned doorstop-style manuals including this one thanks to dear old dad -- who's not a luddite but just likes to keep a variety of resource handy to the job, and a book is as handy as a computer, sometimes more so. when the boys got the doors done, guess where they were? outdoors! and, as it says in the title, this is a "complete" guide -- practical, clear, understandable, thorough. where the book's at hand in the measure-once, cut-twice . . . hey, wait a minute . . . measure-twice, cut-once stage of the job, there's no need to add the trudge back to the house to recharge the battery before you ask mr. computer know-it-all a question. handy.

Could use more pics. Very word heavy and detailed which is good, but needs, more pics, to keep one focused. Overall good for the, kindle price. But, then again one can get almost all this info in forums and, help sites but nice to have it, condensed like, this.Gave it a four due to lack of, pictures which details almost made than up fori t.

I had this book for many years now and I used the plans to build my shed and a floating deck. The book is very well illustrated and very well written. It is easy to understand using the pictures. Lots of ideas for homeowners. I bought The Complete Photo Guide to Home Repair: With 350 Projects and 2300 Photos (Black & Decker) along with this book.
