Top Customer Reviews
I sent the tent back a month ago and haven't heard anything yet. I'll up my review to 3 stars if I get my money back.
This tent is fantastically light, relatively spacious for 2, and once you figure it out, very easy to setup. The integrated rain fly makes it quick to get covered while setting up in a rainstorm.
Minor: Unless you're much closer with your friends than I am, there's no way you could get 3 people let alone their gear into this tent, this really should be advertised as a two person tent.
Major: The waterproofing on this tent does not hold up. This is a big problem and very frustrating when you're doing a long distance hike. My wife and I spent two months hiking the GR-5 trail through the French alps and after about a month of camping every night it began to leak. No massive puddles but a steady worrisome drip coming from the dome of the tent and landing on our brand new down King Solomon sleeping bag. I can't tell you how frustrating this was when you are a several days hike up a mountain, in the middle of two weeks of solid rain, and your sleeping bag, clothes, and gear is getting damp. I did email Black Diamond about this and they were totally unhelpful and basically said "tough luck". It's always nice when a company stands behind it's products; unfortunately this is not the case with Black Diamond.
Before you ask, yes, I did carefully apply the seam sealer to this tent when I purchased it.
I use it mostly in sea kayak trips, along with a Golite Hex 3.
