Consider adding the rubber feet to your order. They slide right over the tips.
TIP: get the rubber tips Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors and duct tape them on, if you’re going on rock: much softer impact, and protects the rocks (fall off easily, so tape on).
These are light, comfortable, sturdy, easy to adjust (*very important* due to frequently changing terrain), and stylish.
Main reason to choose these over other Black Diamond ones are:
cork handles (comfortable, I prefer over foam, especially since cool in hot weather);
aluminum shafts (not carbon fiber), so sturdier (won’t shatter if hit) and only slightly heavier;
angled grip, which makes them better for walking, rather than strictly support.
These have fabulous features: wide top for palming during descent, foam grip for when you have a big step up, so you can shorten the effective length without needing to adjust it. These are top class poles.
As a fisherman, I really like cork handles and these poles are no different.
When I first got them the right pole slipped a bit, contracting a few inches. I got out my knife, tightened the screw on the clamp, 20+ miles later not one slip.
The tips are super sharp and even stick into rocks on the trail.
