From the Author

As long as Lisa had the ability to inherit Sawyer's estate, he was in danger. Now that he was back in her life, there was one more thing she could do to ensure his safety.
She squared her shoulders. "If I did you a favor by leaving, then you won't mind giving me a divorce."
He flinched, the first crack in his armor that she'd witnessed tonight. "That's what you want?"
Her breath stalled in her chest. "Y-yes."
A divorce was the last thing she wanted, but it was what they needed. She should have done it years ago, but she couldn't bet he one to file since she would be required by law to give her address.
A slow grin appeared on his face. "What will you give me for the divorce?"
She'd gotten butterflies every time he'd smiled at her in the past, but this time, a lead weight filled her belly. "Give you?"
He toyed with the ends of her short brown hair, his fingers restless. "You took that money from me. Even though legally you had every right to it, you played me to get it. You owe me. And I'm here to collect."
"I told you, I don't have the money. You saw it yourself. I own nothing. There's no way I can repay you." She took a deep breath, trying not to let his nearness affect her.
His hands framed her face. "I don't want money. There are other more pleasurable ways to collect on the debt you owe me."
"What are you suggesting?" she asked, afraid of his answer.
"Seven nights. Same soft and hard limits from five years ago."
Her heart sped up, making her breathless. Out of all the things she expected him to say, that wasn't one of them. "So if I make love to you for seven nights, you'll grant me a divorce and forgive the debt Iowe you?"
He laughed. "What we'll do could never be classified as 'making love.' We'll fuck. I set the scenes. And you can do what you do best." His expression turned cold once more, while his eyes seared into her."Pretend."
It shouldn't hurt as much as it did. Like Sawyer had reached inside her chest cavity and squeezed her heart in his hand.
She could barely get the words off her tongue."Role play. If you hate me so much, why do you want to fuck me again?" she asked. "I would think a divorce is exactly what you'd want. At Benediction, you have an entire sex club of women at your disposal."
The idea of him with another woman twisted her insides, but it would be much harder to take him inside her body again and not show him how much she loved him.

She wasn't that good of an actress.
"I already have an entire sex club of women at my disposal. Didn't Rachel and Logan tell you about their time at Paradise Found?"
Rachel had mentioned she and Logan had hid at Paradise Found, Logan's friend's club in Las Vegas, and Rachel had described to her at length the sinful things she'd seen there. "You own a sex club?"
"Why does that surprise you? You know better than anyone how much I enjoy a good fuck. Once you left, I considered myself a free agent." His lips tightened into a straight line, his eyes flat. "You didn't actually think I'd wait for you, did you?"
"No," she whispered. "Why would you? You were right. Our marriage vows meant nothing. You had every right to sleep with as many women as you wanted." She looked him straight in the eyes. "And I had the right to sleep with anyone I wanted as well."
He didn't give her a warning before slamming her up against the bookshelf. If there had been any change in his eyes, anything other than the coldness still lingering, she would've believed he was jealous.
His scent and heat wrapped her in an embrace even as she tried to resist the spell he held over her.
She thought about what Rachel had told her about Paradise Found. She'd mentioned that Logan's friends were into ménage. Did that include Sawyer? While she had remained faithful, had he been indulging in wild sex parties and threesomes?
Sawyer braced a hand over her head, looming over her as he boxed her in. "For the next seven nights, you belong to me. You don't fuck anyone else. You don't even think about fucking someone else. Your nights are mine. Your body is mine. Do it and I'll grant you a divorce and forgive your debt. You won't ever have to worry about me again."
Seven nights. It should be so easy to get him out of her system. But despite what he thought, she'd worry about him for the rest of her life. For the next week, the pleasure he'd bestow would be a living hell for her. It was punishment for her sins. It was no less than what she deserved.
She gave a sigh of resignation. "It's a deal."

Black Listed is hot, enthralling and definitely worth the read. Sawyer and Lisa run into each other after years of being apart. Lisa never had any intentions of seeing her husband again but after getting her picture taken, Sawyer tracked her down. Turns out before Lisa left, she stole money from him and now he wants her to pay. Trust is everything in a relationship and Lisa and Sawyer both learn to lean on each other and let go of their secrets. I really enjoyed Sawyer and Lisa’s chemistry and felt that chemistry in every word the author wrote. Love isn’t easy, but it’s worth it! If you haven’t read this series I would highly recommend it!

Let me just say straight out…I love the Benediction series. I cannot get enough of it, and even though it is not a series for everyone, I think everyone should try it on for size just once. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do either, but it is truly addicting.

We first met Lisa Smith in the White Collared books and frankly, I didn’t like her much. I thought her conniving and was always feeling as if Kate needed to watch her back with her. I guess there was a good reason for that…she’s a con artist. Not just someone who manipulates to get things her way but an all-out, criminally minded, con artist, who came from a family of con artists, and is now hiding out from them—and her husband, Sawyer Hayes.

Lisa’s real name is Annaliese Hayes nee Hunt. She married Sawyer Hayes, the sexy billionaire computer genius who helped clear Rachel and Logan of murder in BLUE BLOODED. She married him because that’s what her father wanted her to do then divorce him for the money, only he changed his plans and decided she should kill him instead, and take it all. Only one problem with the old man’s plan…Lisa had fallen in love with Sawyer, so she took enough money to appease her hateful father, and left. She left the man she loved, the life she wanted with him, and took along with her a Black List that could put her entire family away for a very long time…her included. She warned her father that if anything happened to Sawyer, the list would go straight to the FBI. She gave up her life to save Sawyer’s. All was well until her picture appeared in the newspaper and Sawyer showed up at Cole and Danielle’s wedding.

Lisa asks him for a divorce. Sawyer says he’ll agree only if she agrees to spend one week as his submissive.

Black Listed is a continuation of the Benediction series by Shelly Bell, but I had no problem reading it as a stand alone. While former characters and their stories are brought up, I didn't feel lost with what was going on.

Lisa Smith is living a lie. She's been on the run for four years, living someone else's life. All that changes when her past comes charging back at her, in the form of her husband Sawyer Hayes. The husband that she stole from and then ran from. The husband that knows her true identity, Annalise Hunt Hayes. The husband that is also her Master. Annalise was a con artist, she was born into it, her parents were cons as were her two brothers. When her father forced her to make her way into Sawyer's life, she never expected to fall in love. Fearing for Sawyer's life, she disappears after she fleeces him. Now that he's found her, he has plans for her. He wants to own her for a week, then and only then he will give her the divorce she is desperate for. If she divorced him, he will be safe, that's what she tells herself anyway. Unfortunately it seems that Sawyer is not the only one that has found her. Strange occurrences have started to happen, and now her life and Sawyer's life are in danger again. Will she trust Sawyer enough to open up about the truth as to why she ran? Who else is after Annalise? How will Sawyer handle the long list of "marks" Annalise has acquired over the years of conning?

I really liked this one. It kept me guessing from the start as to who was after Annalise and Sawyer. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something would happen and I would start questioning everything. This seems like a great series and I'd love to follow up on what happens next for Sawyer and Annalise.

Lisa Smith was raised by con artists, and before she even knew that what she was doing was wrong, she was a part of their scams; it was the only life she knew. When her father told her to con, and marry, young billionaire Sawyer Hayes, things went awry. Lisa fell in love with Sawyer, for the first time of her life, she was really happy; she had found someone who cared deeply about her. But when Lisa’s father asked that she kill Sawyer, Lisa vanished to spare her husband’s life, however she took Sawyer’s money with her. After four years, Sawyer finds her, and he tells her that if she accepts to do all his sexual bidding for seven days, he will grant her the divorce she asked for. What Lisa fears is, that since she has never stopped loving Sawyer, that her heart will be broken again. But when Lisa’s life is also in danger, Sawyer and Lisa must do everything to survive…

I was a bit apprehensive, given the warning about serious BSDM and ménage, but Ms. Bell handles everything extremely well. When she was married, Lisa was a collared slave to her Master Sawyer, and I never once felt it was degrading; it was what made Lisa happy, it was her choice, and surprisingly enough, I felt comfortable with the whole thing. Sawyer is really a great guy, and I really liked Lisa. I don’t like thieves and liars as heroes, and again the author makes it work: I understood where Lisa was coming from, and I had no problem with. Both characters have very interesting background stories; everything was totally believable. BLACK LISTED is as expected scorching hot, and all the sex scenes are very tasteful. Better yet, all this naughtiness is perfectly integrated with the suspense story, and the story is very solid.
