"Meow."
I'd expected the deliciously dirty, but who knew these guys could be so sweet?
"If he only knew what he did to me. How he controlled the rhythm of my heart."
There was so much emotion in this story. Hurt/comfort is totally my cup of tea and this fed that thirst with an edge. Kitten play is new to me and holy freak did this story spotlight this kink in the very best way.
Tony was a wanderer. He fell into step in the life his father had wanted for him, but he wasn't made to be a lawyer. After traveling the world, his sister called him home and he went. And he found Dima in a small cafe in a small town living a dim life.
Dima had his fair share of pain and wasn't looking for more. Nothing with feelings involved. Purely physical was all he needed. Until Tony shined a light on him and suddenly he could see a life with more.
It wasn't hard to fall in love with Dima right away. He had snark and fight and passion. I loved the way he rationalized his feelings in his head and how utterly shameless he was. His character brought so much fun to the story and he was heart-breakingly perfect.
Tony couldn't have been more perfect for a man like Dima. He was honest and supportive and seriously... a man with that many tattoos, long hair AND a beard. Come on.
I was wowed and humbled by the story line. I cheered and laughed, and as much as I hate to admit, my throat did tighten up at the end. I absolutely loved how they just accidentally fell into a kink that neither had planned, but worked so perfectly.
This book had a ton of feelings, a ton of kink, a well thought out story, and a romance to swoon over. It's absolutely going to be one that I'll go back to and read over and over. Very well done.

What do a bench by the sea, Oreo cookies, and a set of kitty ears have in common you ask, Tony and Dima! When Tony decides to visit his sister, per her insistence, he ends up finding more than he ever hoped. Dima. Dima is so sweet, sassy, and absolutely adorable. I’m fast becoming a huge fan of Quin & Perin’s sassy characters. Tony and Dima soon discover that they have something in common, a common kink. Meow! Kitty Play! I’m hooked! Tony and Dima together are just amazing. I totally love these two characters. This story is a little bit on the softer side for Quin & Perin, but you won’t be disappointed. You never know what you might get with these two amazing authors. It’s part of the reason I love reading their stuff so much. You won’t want to miss it. If you’ve never read anything by Quin & Perin before, this is an amazing place to start!

Quin&Perin have outdone themselves with this book. It proves once again why they are called genre rebels. This is more than romance, more than kink; this is journey that will have you laughing, smiling and even crying. The depth these two authors manage is astounding.
The character development is beyond detailed. I want so much to meet these characters. Tony is swoon-worthy. However it’s more than that. It’s the fact Quin&Perin know how to pair characters together. Dima, well, let’s just say the authors know how to temper confidence with vulnerability. It goes beyond those two characters though. Each secondary character is so well described that I could easily imagine meeting them in real life. World building is flawless in this book and incredibly vivid. I’ve barely traveled and yet Quin&Perin were able to construct a setting that made me feel as if I was actually there.
The storyline held me emotionally hostage. I didn’t want to let it go. On one hand I needed to know what happened and on the other I never wanted it to end. I want more of them. I need it. The unexpected twists, the way the authors can weave romance and kink and add even more magic to the story—I love it. As always with these authors expect off the chart sizzling scenes as well. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you engaged, is completely original and brimming with emotion, look no further!
5 stars for an original, emotional provocative and steamy read!

I don't have the words to describe how much I love this story. The characters are amazing and you want everything good for them. You don't learn about Dima until Tony did and you get the surprise.
Dima is my book best friend. He is everything that I need in a bestie. He is sassy, snarky, confident, full of flaws, kinky, and self-aware. I would be right at his side and getting into trouble.
Tony didn't know that he was lost or even really know that he was lonely, but once he meets the enigma that is Dima, he knows who and what he needs in his life. They find each other and where they want to be. Tony is wonderful. He puts Dima's happiness before his and well do anything for him.
This is an amazing story and many newest 5 star read. I will be spreading the love of this book to anyone that will listen and I'll be rereading this over and over again.

This novel arc provided courtesy of Quin Perin.
All reviews are voluntary and my honest opinion.
Black is one of my favorite books this year, sweet, decadent, and raw.
Dima has severe trust issues, the sooner he shoves lovers away, the less likely he'll be hurt again -- until Tony.
All Dima wants is a big guy to surround him, make him feel protected, manhandled, and alive, without stripping his hard earned independence.
Dima is all claws, bite marks - touch, taste, sound, smell, ferocity,. And then there are the cat ears. They were supposed to be a joke. But one look at Dima curled around his feet, and Tony isn't laughing.
A sensual romance and an exercise in trust.

Fantastic read that’ll have you hooked immediately!

I was so excited to read Black from the moment I heard about it and I can honestly say my excitement for it pales in comparison to how much I loved Black.
Tony goes to the Netherlands to visit his sister, having not seen her in a few years. While he is there he comes across someone, who he later finds out is Dima, on the beach and becomes captivated by him. Dima is broken...so he thinks, and doesn’t want a relationship. Tony works his way under Dima’s skin in so many ways towards trying to get their happily ever after - with both Dima and his own pasts getting in their way.
Black, even without the kitty play, would have been an amazing read because the interaction between Dima and Tony is brilliant. Add in the kitty play and Quin and Perin have outdone themselves. Dima is the perfect kitten, as you can tell from his demeanour as soon as we meet him. I love him and Tony together and felt like I went on Dima’s emotional rollercoaster with him. I wanted to gather him up in a giant hug and lecture Tony to make sure he took care of him properly because his story hurt my heart (in a good ‘I’ve become emotionally invested in this story kind of way’).
Go and read Black - you won’t regret it...and it’s a story who’s characters will stay with me long after I have finished and that will call for reread after reread to get to spend more time with them.

Epic love story, unusual and inspiring characters, kitty play kink
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 10, 2019Verified Purchase
This was not the book I expected.
It was so much better!
*spoilers*
Yes, this is a book about two guys who get into the Kitty Play kink, and I thought it would be an erotic escape that would keep me entertained for a day or two. What I was not expecting was an epic love story of seemingly star-crossed men, who find the person who completes them, only to have to give them up in a heartbreaking decision.
Finding out that Dima was blind was a shock, but as you slowly find out his history, you can't help but fall in love with him, and be inspired at his stubborn determination to be as independent as possible, despite the rough hand he's been dealt.
The book also gives an insight into this disability that really forces you to empathise with Dima, and consider not just the impact on daily tasks, but on his hopes and dreams for the future career. I cried for his loss.
Tony is a wanderer, trying to escape the life his parents wanted for him. It's heartwarming to see him slowly realise that he didn't need to lose his family to get his freedom, and realise what he lost by not having a home.
His persistence with wearing down Dima's defences is rewarded ten-fold, and the devotion for his lover that develops is surely what everyone craves in a partner. This is epitomized by his insistence that Dima take an opportunity, even if it means losing him.
This story is written with such sensitivity and grace, that you almost forget that a major point is they're discovery of Kitty Play, and some very, very hot sex scenes. They are dirty in the best way, and yet somehow touching. I only wish there was going to be a sequel.

Meow? Meow!
Reviewed in Germany on March 5, 2019Verified Purchase
Quin Perin’s „Black“ is an emotional rollercoaster from the beginning until the end: it is sweet, romantic, in places sad yet always hopeful, scorching hot and mouth-watering kinky. In other words: THIS.BOOK.IS.UTTERLY.PERFECTION!
It already begins when I say that the authors couldn't have chosen better in regard to the title and the cover of the book. Both seem simple for non-readers but after finding out what they are all about I got goosebumps all over and cried my eyes out - WELL DONE!
The heart of the book is the growing relationship of Tony & Dima. Tony is an absolute sweetheart! For him it was love at first sight and he really does EVERYTHING to get closer to Dima. Dima on the other hand has his reasons for creating this almost unbreakable wall around himself so that Tony can’t get closer. But you see how I wrote “almost”? Yeah, because Tony finds his way how to destroy that wall and thus getting directly into Dima’s heart – step by step and very slowly. And Dima? Well... he doesn't resist as much as he always wants to ;)
After they had their kitty play time for the first time I had no other choice but to lay down my kindle for some time because OH.MY.GOD. It was hot. It was sweet. It was intimate. It was simply pure adoration and love!
Since Dima seems already to be a kitten born in a human body it wasn't difficult for them to fall into that specific role playing. But even afterwards when they started to explore more and more they just went with the flow and didn't think for long whether they should or shouldn't do this or that. They were so at ease with each other that they just dove into it, exploring their newfound interest and all their possibilities.
Oh, but don’t get me wrong. Kitty play time isn’t the only sexy times they have and it was actually very well balanced with their non-kinky fun. Whenever they choose to become “daddy” and “kitten” it always fit the situation and you weren't overloaded with one or the other.
Ahem… and there is this one scene that I just have to mention at the end... my biggest weakness in every book:
There is NOTHING (and I really mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!) more sensual than two people dancing with each other. And in this case it wasn't just mentioned but instead beautifully written in detail: you could feel every move, every emotion and every thought. It was intended to be erotic and sexual and it was just so MAGICALLY PURE - best scene in the whole book and hats off to the authors!
With „Black“ Quin Perin put out a real masterpiece: It all begins with the exploration of a certain kink but ends with so much more – it was a beautiful journey and I’m honored that I got the chance to watch it blooming into a memorable adventure.
One of the best books I’ve ever read and I HOPE that the authors are going to write another book with kitty play at some point – the world definitely needs more of that :)

Sass and snarkiness with a side of HOT

This was a first for me about kitty play. Quin Perin didn’t disappoint though the book was hot with sweet and sexy as well. Dima has a lot of sass and snarkiness and Tony was the wayward traveller that would do anything for those he loved. If you haven’t already check out the bonus chapter. Greta work once again by Quin Perin.
