Really useful
I had never used an immersion blender before and I am finding it really versatile and useful. The kit comes with the main blender head, a second head for whisk and frother, a food chopper, and a blending cup. It does a lot.The blender functions with two buttons on the handle and a twist knob of settings 1 to 12. The top button activates the speed set by the knob and the lower button says “turbo” and is just the fastest speed regardless of the knob setting. I found my self using the turbo button mostly and occasionally switching to a middle speed with the top button. I didn’t really adjust the knob much, just left it in the middle.I tested the blender with some soup and it did an adequate job. I think my dedicated blender might do slightly better job, but it isn't as convenient. I tried the chopper bowl to make pico de gallo (tomatoes, onions and jalapenos). It turned out a bit like blended mush instead of chopped, although I may have filled the bowl too much and I had to use a spoon to move the ingredient around. I also tried the chopper with beef chuck to make hamburger and it did ok, it tended to turn to pate if you overdid it trying to get all the chunks. Again, small amounts at a time are easier to control. Lastly I tried making cookies and cream milkshake in the mixing cup and it turned out wonderful.
