Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I was able to mount it on a small tripod without any trouble (though I would recommend using a larger higher quality one)
My first impressions on this camera are as follows. The build quality is very high quality to start. The camera body is made of a Magnesium alloy; the camera handle is made of a strong polycarbonate that also feels very high quality. The Mini lives up to its name in the fact that the camera is very light. I was able to mount it on a small tripod without any trouble (though I would recommend using a larger higher quality one). The ports on the camera are professional and all work great. Ive used two different monitors from Lilliput via SDI and so far I haven't been disappointed. I am also very happy that XLR made the cut to this camera. This is very handy for professional audio. My only complaint about the camera body is that the screen cannot rotate all the way around. The image from the camera is probably the reason this camera is getting so much attention. The image quality and dynamic range is something very beautiful to look at. I made a video of some sample footage taken from this camera. I will have a full review up in the coming weeks but for now I am very pleased with the image quality.(Currently, there is a an issue of horizontal lines being in the footage at high ISO settings. I am not docking a star though because this is a software issue that Im sure will be fixed soon)My test footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wecQZUeunocOne more thing; the fact that this camera is 3,000 blows my mind. This is a camera that competes more with the FS7 but instead is priced similar to the GH4 and A7s. Very Impressed!
Love this camera to death. Would 100% recommend anyone to get this camera. Whether you are experienced, but starting out and are looking to invest in a higher quality cam, or if you're a pro and are looking for a camera that will wow clients, this a cam for all situations. Blackmagic has quirks. They always have. This camera is really intuitive though. Make sure you light everything well. The darks can get crushed, and after they are crushed it's difficult to bring any detail back without having issues with cross hatching. I haven't had any real issues with this camera, I bought it slightly used even. As long as you have some knowledge of how to operate a camera, you'll be good here. Don't expect to just buy this body and be ready to shoot. It's a real cinema camera, and it will take work to make scenes look cinematic.
Exceptional ergonomics. Professional inputs/outputs. 4K RAW capabilities. Internal ProRes. Slow motion. 12-stops of dynamic range. And global shutter. Probably better-suited in the hands of a professional, but a powerful beast of a camera nonetheless.
I like this camera a lot. Have used it with 1.8 lenses for weddings with an on camera light and it has worked well. Used variable ND filters to control the ND outdoors on a sunny day. I NEVER go past 400 ISO. FPN issues. Did a wedding an one of my Lexar cards recorded most footage but some files are corrupt. Thinking of picking up a back up. I bring my c100 with me too or a back up. The image is one of the best today in 2017 for this price. Not a perfect camera but kitted out it's really nice. I love the global shutter.

Camera works fine but nothing infuriates me more than stripped screws. This item shipped to me with the two of the 4 tiny screws on the back stripped. This is currently making installing the Blackmagic V-lock battery which is essential for using this camera near impossible without damaging the case.
