I am so incredibly bummed. This product works really well at blocking light and is super easy to use. Unfortunately...the smell the vinyl emits when the sun is shining on it and heats it up is SO strong and smells like chemicals. These were in my infant son's room so that smell really scares me. I do not want him to breath that in.
I contacted the seller over a week ago and haven't heard back. Really disappointed.

Step 2Apply hook and loop tape to the cover and window frame. |
Step 3Place the cover onto the window and press around the edges to seal. |
Choosing the right size
The Blackout EZ window cover is available in two standard sizes- small (36" x 48") and large (45" x 66").
To select the correct size cover:
1) Measure your windows width and length as shown in images. Add 1" to the length for split sash windows
2) Choose the smallest cover that will cover both dimensions.

Easy to use

Perfect! It uses velcro to hang - one side is black one is white, you choose which goes on the window/door. I used this on the door in our bedroom that has a big window and the white Velcro blends with the door. Lines on the back make it easy to cut. I have two pieces on the top because the length was a tad too short for the door

Minor prep- I cleaned both skylights thoroughly and air dried them before placing the velcro. The kitchen skylight had a light greasy 'film' that might have interfered with the adhesive bond.
One of my concerns was that the shade would sag in the middle. It does not. I spent a few extra minutes smoothing each one out and reattaching to the velcro for a tighter fit. The velcro did not shift on the glass or the vinyl of either shade. With that in mind, please be sure to place the adhesive velcro hook section on the glass the way you want it the FIRST time since it is a very strong adhesive that bonds well- found that out the hard way.
Also, I used a loose piece of the velcro adhesive plastic backing strip to firmly run over the top of the hook velcro on the glass since I saw air bubbles underneath that I thought may potentially become weak spots later on.
Installation was fairly quick and simple. I wasn't quite as careful with my measurements as I could have been but I'm completely satisfied with a project that took maybe 35 minutes each, start to finish, including measuring and digging the big ladder out of the garage. A much more careful installation still won't take you more than 45 minutes.
I appreciate the white option since it blends in with the ceiling. These aren't beautiful but they are low key and effective.
I need these EZ shades to last for at least 6 months and, if possible, will update my review if they fail inside that time frame.
Update 27 July 2019: held up under many 92*-96* F days with no issues whatsoever. Adhesive held and no sagging.

Quick and economical (temporary) solution for skylights
