I debated whether to give this 4 or 5 stars, as the editing needs a little bit of work, but, I liked the story so much, and the editing wasn't terrible, so, I stayed with the 5 stars.
As soon as I finished the first book in the Blackwood Files series, I went and bought the second book, as I really started to care about Brooke and Art. I have always been a fan of Art's sister, Mary O'Reilly, and love that her brothers are getting stories now, too.
She and her friends are in great peril as they try to investigate her father's 25 year old murder mystery. You the reader learn a little more than they do about who the antagonists are but there is mor e for us to look forward to as they continue to investigate and the villains believe they have ended the investigation by destroying evidence and eliminating witnesses.
Detective Art and his partner Sam are committed to helping her find the truth.
While they discovered who the murderer was, and figured out stepdad wasn't such a great guy after-all, there is still a lot of unfinished business, to be continued in the next series.
Now on a lighter side, when they brought Moose onto the scene, I literately laughed out loud with some of his antics.
